I just got an offer to go out today, too. From a woman.
But I already (sort-of) have a girlfriend. This from a guy whose only been dating for four months and is 25. My luck has changed.

Yeah, once you get a girlfriend, other women just start walking up to you and talking like Mae West. It's getting that initial girlfriend that's the trick.

I've been at least talking to girls more lately, that's progress.

So you just went ahead and skipped the first two steps?

I mean, isn't it first you get the money, then you get the power, THEN you get the woman??


Oh and Menard and Poogie are going to be taking much too much of an interest in this which will mean that you're going to have to spill more details lest they start making things up.

So, let me get this straight.

He was coming back from a boy scout meeting, when he decided to thumb a ride, because it was raining, and a woman in a Jag XKE picked him up and took him back to her house to dry off. Does she dance funny, if you play a tune on the harmonica? Is her favorite game "Snakes 'n' Ladders?" "Did she put him in the tub,  so she could give him a bath? Where did I hear this before . . . ? Watch out, Akira! If she has you stand up in the tub, so she can wash you "properly."

Oh, like I could so take advantage of that line and abuse you; but, this is Akiratubo's abuse....ahem....I mean....dating thread, so I need to concentrate my stinging jabs.....I mean.....useful remarks on him.

I think Akiratubo took her to a grindhouse on their date.

(It's been long enough that we can start making stuff up.)

As he backs away he notices he  has a whole new set of teeth..........oops!

We only went out on those two dates and haven't talked since.  Oh, well.

If you had fun, and think she's worth the effort ask her out again, if you don't try you'll never know where this might have gone.

Now to qualify my brilliant advice, I should add that my wife and I have been together for 36 years, married for 34 next month, so its been awhile since I've actually "dated". The above advice is basically what I did and look how I ended up. May be a good or bad consequence, depends on your point of view. :smile: :smile:

Did you have fun and enjoy it?  If so call her up and tell her you did.  Unless she had told to to drop dead.

Eh, she stood me up for our third date, which we had planned as a picnic to the mountains.  This was not some spur of the moment thing, we planned it for a few days.  I called several times to find out what was wrong and received no reply.

I'm not too worried about it.  I didn't think we were making much of a connection on those first two dates, anyway.
