Title: Teenie-bopper movie, probably from the eighties Post by: ghouck on April 28, 2007, 11:52:55 PM I can't remember much about this movie, except it's about a kid (maybe played by john cusack), that is engaged to get married to a fairly unappreciative rich b***h. He goes off the "the big city", and ends up buying a realy cool exotic sports car (looked like a countach), that keeps falling apart (he didn't get the warranty). Somehow he falls in love with the saleswoman, ,, blah blah, , ,all that. Anyone have an idea of the movieI am talking about? One detail I remember is as he is leaving his mother hands him a paper bag that she says is some spending money, but really has condoms in it. . . Thanks, Greg.

The guy was engaged to a really attractive southern belle, I don't remember her being a b***h, I thought she was really sweet :teddyr: Of course I wouldn't go by my memory. I think her dad was rich and a typical a-hole. Oil man or something. The kid was having all sorts of problems getting the Countach back from the big city to the country, it was just a pile of junk but it looked really good. I remember them trying to tow the car, but they had the whole thing hanging up in the air and spinnin' in the breeze.

I think Jack is on the right track, , the Contach was a complete pile of crap, kept breaking down. The Fiance, as I remember it was not so much a b***h, but rather a spoiled brat, , , Made some comment to the effect of "You put the wedding ring on the fourth finger, because the husband is wrapped around the little finger", , ,, some crap like that. . .
