Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, and chocolate.  I also like chocolate-covered chocolate dipped in chocolate and topped with chocolate shavings.

Also, Jolly Ranchers, Lemonheads, and anything caramel.  Oh, and I like chocolate too.    :teddyr:

Don't eat a lot of candy any more (dang diet), but ...

My favorite candy bar was Hershey's Bar None.  Can't seem to find it any more anyway.

At the movies, my favorite candy was always Goobers.  Chocolate and peanuts - does not get much better than that.

Don't have A favorite.

But I like tootsie rolls, twizzlers, junior mints, and most of the regular type candy bars.

But I don't like those horrible Skor bars.

2. Lemonheads

4. Red Licorice

PIXIE STICKS! and has anyone had one of the giant ones? someone bought me that for halloween and i nearly cried

I do the same things with licorice (using them as straws). I also get the long ropes and wrap them around my neck when I sit at the computer or while watching TV. I'll put one end in my mouth and just eat until I've pulled in the entire thing.

I have not had Pixie Stix in over 20 years. I think I'm still coming down from the sugar high the last one gave me. :teddyr:

"Bad" diet should go with "bad movies,"no?  Chocolate in its myriad varieties is always good . . . I also like HEATH BARS to a fault, they're my favorite, also hate SKOR (they're so tacky) am seriously fond of JUJYFRUITS and DOTS; FERRO ROCHER is great and BUTTERFINGER or CLARK bars are pretty hard to resist.

I used to wrap fruit rollups around my finger and eat it that way.  I can top you in playing with food.

Go to walgreens or something this weekend, treat yourself to a bag and relive the memories. Ahh..nothing like a straw full of sugar

I love heath bars so much i suck off the chocolate before eating the toffee.   :teddyr:

btw if you love toffee try Dreyers Toffee Crunch ice cream. It's a large version of the pint sized dreamery that i can no longer find.  It's caramel flavored ice cream with toffee chunks and swirls of caramel. if someone asks me the 'stranded on a deserted island' question you can bet this is gonna top my list along with a solar powered freezer

Heh!
I have a Skor bar sitting on my desk right now.
Think I'll eat it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've never been a licorice fan.
Can't stand the texture of it for some reason.

I'm a gum freak.
I must have a pack of gum at all times and I usually keep a couple of packs of Wigley's Extra in my car too.
I also like Life Savers...those things are so good and they're only like 50 cents per pack.

Remember Lick M Aid?
Now it's called Fun Dip.
I had some of that the other day and it was great!
Haven't had that in years.
(http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/4779/2112ky4.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)

And Susan, I had a Pixie Stick that was like 3-4 feet long and made of plastic.
Took my 2 days to finish it.

Ash-

Life savers used to make the best suckers, not anymore. The ones i see have changed, but they used to have large whitish suckers with swirls of color. now they look like a life saver on a stick and don't taste nearly as creamy and good.

Gum - The best gum in the world is FELIX GUM. This is coming from a former gum freak who would stand by this and my love of Hubba Bubba. My bro sent me an envelope a few years ago with felix drawn on it and "Guess what's inside?"

It is THE most coveted gum by ..well by me. Because it stays soft FOREVER, and never loses it's flavor. The elasticity is amazing..it's probably made of whale blubber like some gums from the day used to be but omg.

When I went on the wagon,I found myself craving lotsa sugar...it's slowed down somewhat. But If I had to pick a #1...it would be Jujy Fruits....also like
.BOSTON BAKED BEANS! Yummmm.....
 Dots!
BABY RUTH!!!! (Even if they do look like turds.)
Whatever happened to BUBS DADDY gum? They were big foot and a half sticks of gum,and you could jam about 3 in your mouth and psychadelic drool would run down your face...

Title: Re: Favorite Candy

Didn't like candy much as a kid except at Halloween and that was only for the candy bars like 3 Musketeers, Snickers, Milky Way, Reese Cups, etc.

One time we took a vacation to Gettysburg and Hershey Park when I was about 8 years old and we were camping not far from Hershey Park and we got a giant Hershey Chocolate bar and ate the whole thing. Well.....it was 100 degrees that week and the whole thing made me sick and remember waking up in the middle of the night to throw-up at the camp ground restroom.

My wife introduced chocolate to me again later, but now we only eat Dark Chocolate for the anti-oxidents.

We like to take Sour Patches with us on long trips.

I remember as a kid, my mother refused to buy this for me because it was just pure sugar. Of course, multiple boxes of candy cigarettes and cigar-shaped gum was ok with her.

Years ago, I went through a Gummi Bear phase. I'd get the big huge bags from Costco and just eat them by the handful.

Canada's Jersey Milk Bar is now tops with me. Also have a love of Skittles, Tic Tacs (but only the orange ones), Mentos (fruit-flavored), Maynard's Wine Gums and Fruit Gums, Cadbury Creme Eggs although they're only out around Easter time. The Caramilk bar is an old favourite too as will as Caramilk rolos type candy and of course there's Rolos themselves.

I've never been much of a candy eater (my sugar fix comes from Dr Pepper), but I'd have to list Heath Bars, Nestle Crunch, Twix and $100 Grands among my favorites, along with caramel squares and (more so as a kid) SweetTarts, Spree (not the new "chewy" Spree, but the good old hard, candy-coated sugar rock kind), butterscotch hard candy and Wild Cherry LifeSavers. For a cough, I'll still buy Luden's Wild Cherry Cough Drops even though I know they are just candy with some vitamin C added; they just taste so good that I'll suck down a bag of them whenever I get a sore throat. Nowadays, though, most candy is too sweet for me; for example, eating a Hershey's Kiss literally makes my teeth hurt.

Dear lord look what I've started...

Let me add a few more favs of mine into the mix;
Chocolate Necco Waffers(I'm convinced I'm the only one in the world who likes these)
Tootsie Roll Pops
Twizlers
Peanut Butter Cups (although I can't eat much thanks to my cut back in Saturated Fats)
Atomic Fire Balls

How about opening this conversation up to seasonal items;
Easter
Sweet Tart Bunny and Chick Mix
Marshmallow Peeps

Christmas
I used to get those Lifesavers storybooks every year

Reese's peanut butter eggs are probably my favorite.  However, I also like the pull and peel twizzlers and real German gummy bears.  The whole speech about American gummy bears in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" cracked me up.

I am allergic to dairy and as such as a kid I never developed much a taste for sweet things.  Any sugar I do get comes from colas.

But this gentleman stole $250K worth of Skittles:

i think i've seen charlston chews at the dollar store. But check out that hometownfavorites.com link i posted - you can find almost any candy there that is retro. They specialize in selling candy that is sold regionally and not easy to find (as well as food) and are very responsive if you sen an email inquiry.

I was trying to see if mortons donuts was still in business, they did the research for me and alas...my journey ended. They also have a list of retired candy no longer made. But it's a great site if you want to get some hard to find food, or maybe make a gift box for someone with some retro candy..i keep meaning to do that someday

Snivelly, I wouldn't be too concerned.  Ash is just used to it being all of us guys on here.  It was not until recently that a number of female posters started showing up.  The change threw us all for a loop.  Dennis had to get used to wearing clothes, I started keeping the door to my room locked, and Menard...okay, well, Menard still urinates wherever he wants, but the rest of us are trying.

Oh, and Peter Johnson reduced his intake of William Shatner films by 50%.  Tell me that is not making an effort!

In raj's defense, it is me who keeps moving them to the corner.  It goes like this:

>enter forum

You have entered the forum.  A pair of tighty whities underwear is here.

>look at underwear

Other than the dark skid marks on the back and the yellow stains on the front, these are perfectly white.

>speak to underwear

The underwear seem oblivious of your existence.

>burn underwear

I'm afraid that I don't see any burn here

>move underwear to corner

You have now moved the stained underwear in the corner.

As an anime fan, I envy the hell out of you; sadly, I have no skill that could get me a job there, and I cant learn spanish, let alone japanese.

My favorite candy bar of all time would have to be whatchamacallits (no, really, that's what they're called) with an honorable mention going to reeses cups.

I hope rebel 1812 enjoys chewing rice botan candy while oogling japanese chicks in schoolgirl outfits. If only I could be that lucky...
