Title: You have got to be kidding me!...................
Post by: respectmeordye3 on May 18, 2007, 12:44:28 PM
Just saw a trailer for a new horror movie over at Apple's movie trailer website, but it sounds about as stupid and B-horror movie as you can get.

It's called Black Sheep and get this--It's about a herd of genetically altered bloodthirsty killer sheep.

talk about stupid.

Hmmmm, sounds to me like it has possibilties...

Where's that thread on animals that have not been "done" in horror movies yet...was sheep on the list?

The trailer is hilarious. Hopefully the movie is as funny and zany as the trailer is, though I doubt the actual film is all that great.

I have been interested in seeing this since it came up on the forum.  A quick search turned up this thread, but I don't think it was our first about "Black Sheep:"

I don't know if killer sheep have been done in movies, but it has been done in music.  Tom Smith sang about a killer sheep named Fenton.

Title: Black Sheep US release date June 22, 2007.

Weintein Company and IFC films have the US distribution rights and will be releasing it on DVD in June according to Wikipedia. If IFC is in on it then it may be shown on their cable channel at some point.

I really want to see this one. On IMDB most of the negative comments about the film seem to be from New Zealanders.

GODMONSTER of INDIAN FLATS(197?) is a movie about a giant mutated killer sheep.

I've heard about this, and I seriously want to see it. The guys at Dread Central loved it, giving it a 4.5 out of 5, making me want to see it all the more.

They blew up a sheep in Bad Taste.

 :bouncegiggle:

My thought when I first read about this new movie: "What? Is it a remake of THE GODMONSTER OF INDIAN FLATS?"
I wonder if the killer sheep in BLACK SHEEP get to dance with a hippy chick, too?

This film has been pretty high on my list for a while now.

Interesting tidbit - the special effects are being taken care of by Weta Workshop.

Since we're right next door to New Zealand [and sometimes refer to NZ as "East Australia"] this one is coming to cinemas here.  It looks tacky, silly and fun.  I'm guessing it's somewhere in feel to "Undead" and the trailer very much sits well with me in the ridiculous-style humour I love.  The shot where a herd of sheep are running around a hill is hilarious for how 'scary' it is, and the terrifying squeal one character makes when you hear the sheep bleat is fantastic.

I'm not expecting a classic, but come on, how can that concept not be a laugh?

On a side note there is more sheep in NZ than there are people.  Be very very afraid...

It's coming in June or July, depending on what Trade Magazine you read --
Honestly, the trailer is just a scream -- "Night of The Lepus" for the 21st Century -- My wife and I rewatched it 5 or 6 times & forwarded it on to others --
How can you not love the obviously fake-looking "killer sheep" puppet, interspersed with CGI sheep and real sheep-footage?
I've already decanted the wine, and am waiting for the Fromage de Pew to present itself . . .

My friends and I have been looking forward to this movie since like March... it looks like something that'll be great. It seems like a purposely b-movie like Snakes on a Plane but thankfully this one's not overhyped.

I loved Snakes on a Plane but it flopped because it had too much attention... this one has just the right amount... very little.

As I said in my previous post, don't get your expectations up too high. It falls short of Braindead. Still, it is definitely worth a look.

EVERYTHING falls short of Braindead IMO, Titanic, Gone with the Wind, The Matrix, The entire Star Wars saga, E.T. . . all fall short of Braindead. The only movie that comes close is Bad Taste, , it's a close second. Naked Lunch is a distant thrid. .

Oh, yeah. This looks promising.
Make a good double feature with SEAN OF THE DEAD.
Could make for intresting tag lines...
"Lanolin is the sent of fear."
"They bleat the snot out of you"
"They pull your eyes over their wool."
"

The Best tagline is the one they're already using "Prepare for the Violence of the Lambs"

I think it would've been funny if they just simply said, "Prepare for the violence!" and left it at that.

I prefer the "There are 40 million sheep in New Zealand... and they're p**sed off!"

I don't care how they do it, the whole thought of a sheep taking action has created a smile on my self since Harold the Ambitious Sheep in Monty Python...

And of course as mentioned before, the poor sheep of Bad Taste :teddyr:
