Much like Willard minus the rats. A friend found me this one in a dollar store. Pure obsure lousy film bliss awaits those who can find it.

What I remember of "Stanley" was that they kept harping on how bad it would be for certain people if one guy had a rattlesnake guardian angel. Good point on the human acting when the first billed character is an animal. Still, you have to admit that if they made a Lassie film, but replaced the dog with a python or alligator, it could be interesting. Especially if the antagonist element turned out to be a pack of wild dogs.

Better yet, what if it was a supergroup of wild dogs with the likes of Rin Tin Tin & Benji at the helm. Well, there was that WILLARD sequel BEN. No heroic gators, but a friendly, sympathetic rat. I think some white dude sang the title song. There were a couple of 70's movies featuring "The Amazing Doberman Gang" about a pack of Doberman Pinschers trained to rob banks and mug for the camera.
