AWAKEN THE DEAD is a redemption tale draped within the folds of a horror tale.  Due for a November 6th release by Brain Damage Films (www.braindamagefilms.com), AWAKEN THE DEAD is a story about a former assassin turned priest who must face the complexities of his tortured past within the confines of a zombie epidemic.  The priest Christopher, played by Gary Douglas Kohn (ALMOST FAMOUS, RESERVATION ROAD, ER) , has foresworn violence as lives a life of peace away from the machinations of the government for whom he used to work.  A mysterious letter brings him back to that life and traps him in a house with a reclusive woman named Mary, played by Lindsey Morris (LORDS OF LA) .  Together, they unravel the mystery of the zombie outbreak and the threads that connect heir lives while battling for their very lives.
 
Filled with dark humor, horror, and plenty of action, AWAKEN THE DEAD is equal parts indie drama, mainstream espionage thriller and straight up zombie flick.  The film also stars comedian Nate Witty as Stanley, a hapless lost Jehovah's Witness who knocks on the wrong door. Robert Michael Nyman stars as Jeremiah, the shadowy agency mastermind who trained Christopher as is father to Mary.  Pro Bodybuilder World Will Harris (BE COOL)  ) appears as Grin, a killer pimp bent on vengence. Sylvester Stallone's cousin Paul Dion Monte (COBRA, WARRIORS OF THE WASTELAND) also co-stars as Nick, an obsessively insensitive Ex-marine. Filipina actress Aurora Corcuera (LOOKING FOR PRINCE CHARMING) plays his wife Michelle.
 
AWAKEN THE DEAD also showcases a number of very talented indie bands from around the world. Edible Clowns and the Gentle Fracture helms the score and provides songs for the soundtrack.  Diverje, Echo of Souls, Canadian pop singer Jenae, Brokenside and UK band Vampire Division are also featured on the  soundtrack.
