Title: Side Order of Ninjas Reviews "Bubba Ho-Tep"
Post by: Andrew on June 07, 2007, 07:54:02 AM
This film is interesting, because it is very quirky.  However, some people do not like the actual execution, while others really get into it.  I liked a lot of the ideas, but once the whole movie came together it moved a little too slow for me and just barely missed the mark.  Maybe I should give it another viewing or two.

The film is a bit slow moving and I'm not sure if the mummy really has any impact on the film.  Once again Campbell's performance pretty much saves the film from total disaster.

The way the movie just got word of mouth and such a limited theatrical release got some really excited about it.  I was expecting Bruce Campbell to be more like an elderly Ash, though his Elvis was great.

I still think Bruce should get an Oscar for this. This is definitely not your common-or-garden B movie. For one thing, there is hardly any action in it. But moments such as JFK in a wheelchair and The King with a Zimmer frame setting off to confront evil are unforgettable.
