Title: Volcano/Lava Monster!
Post by: andy on June 07, 2007, 09:29:39 AM
If you google the comic book Challengers of the Unknown # 32 there is a volcano monster on the cover. I swear that I recall this creature in a Japanese Monster movie. In the film, just as in the comic book there are actually two of these monsters and they merge into one even bigger monster! The comic is dated 1963 so the film would have been made some time in the 60's as well.

I found an entry with a picture of the cover for reference:

So, what we are looking for is a live action version of a humanoid lava monster?  Like a man in a suit?  Nothing is jumping to mind, but "Ultraman" and "Spectreman" would be two series I would look through.

Maybe Johnny Sokko?

The monster Satan King, from Spectreman, looks a lot like the monster on that cover.  He was a single monster, though, not formed from two monsters combined.
