Title: Anyone else looking for to Day Watch? (2007)
Post by: daveblackeye15 on June 12, 2007, 08:35:49 PM
I found the movie Night Watch to be quite cool. After getting over the lack of action (from reviews it sounded like there was more) I started to notice a ton of little details, thus my fondness grew.

From the trailer it looks like this one has more magic and action to it. Can't wait. Though they should have called it Night Watch 2 since it covers the second half of the first book.

Anyone else enjoy the book Night Watch? I like it more than the movie version but I've seperated the two medias as different worlds. I've sadly lost track of the book and can't finish it just yet.

I never read the books but I might give it a shot. I actually saw Daywatch in the threaters a couple of weeks ago. I would say its a soild sequel. Actually it felt like their was alittle less magic than the first movie but still good.

Belief it or not I nearly did a little squeal of delight when I saw the first clip of Anton in the American trailer. He then procceded to jump over a car, then onto a passing one. Bad ass.

I'm happy to see the character return (this was before I started reading Night Watch, no idea what happened next)

By magic, I mean, what do you call a guy jumping into a poster board a la Gloom/dimensional style. Oh well, if you say it's a solid sequel I believe you.

But I heard the third movie has a U.S. company cutting in, LAME!

I haven't heard anything about the third film but if thats true it could be disastrous. The director of Daywatch and Nightwatch is doing some other movies so I'm hoping they don't replace him to get other movie out.

Thier was alot less going into "Gloom" in Daywatch (one scene) and transforming people in to animals etc. It seemed to be more flasher with the magic like when a charater Alice drives her car across some buildings or slowing down time. Maybe I haven't seen Nightwatch in awhile but it felt it was a bit less.

I was a big fan of Night Watch, so I'll definitely be checking out Day Watch when I can.  The book has been making the rounds in the library I work at, though I've never read it.
