From DVD Drive-In (http://www.dvddrive-in.com/):

MGM (as distributed by Fox) has finally announced a batch of Midnite Movies double features for release on September 11. These will include: RETURN OF DRACULA/THE VAMPIRE (John Beal) (new hi-def transfers), THE BEAST WITH A MILLION EYES/PHANTOM FROM 10,000 LEAGUES (new hi-def transfer for PHANTOM), PHARAOH'S CURSE/CURSE OF THE FACELESS MAN, THE BEAST WITHIN/THE BAT PEOPLE, KONGA/YONGARY, MONSTER FROM THE DEEP. One the same date, MGM will release Roger Corman and Vincent Price box sets of previously released titles. As mentioned earlier, MGM will also release single Midnite Movies of WITCHFINDER GENERAL and FOOD OF THE GODS. More details and cover art to follow soon!

I'm looking forward to the new transfer for Phantom from 10,000 Leagues, as well as what will no doubt be a better transfer of Yongary (it's gotta be better than the Alpha Video version). I have Curse of the Faceless Man, but it's from Cheezy Flicks and they suck. A new version of that one will also be most welcome.

This makes me so happy.  I always loved those discs that they put out.  Never a lot of special features but always great transfers.

I'll pick up that Yongary disc, along with The Beast Within and Food Of The Gods.  I first saw Food Of The Gods on cable paired with Empire Of The Ants, another great Midnight disc.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Shadow!

It's good to see that "The Beast Within" is returning to DVD. It's one of my faves, and I may just pick up the double feature disc to get "The Bat People." Thanks for the good news Shadow!

This is great news.  I have a bunch of MGM's Midnight Movies and there are some on your upcoming release list that I will definitely buy.  I am especially excited about FOOD OF THE GODS.

This is great news.  I've wanted to see "Beast With a Million Eyes" again for years.  Plus, "Yongary" is a goofy monster movie.  At one point the monster gets ammonia or some other chemical on his skin and he start dancing a jig.  A young boy watches and laughs at the monster.

And, finally, "Food of the Gods" on DVD.  Thank you!

Great news this series has not been discontinued, as was rumored on some sites.

PHARAOH'S CURSE/CURSE OF THE FACELESS MAN

I'm particularly curious to finally see these two. Famous Monsters of Filmland used to run some intriguing photos from each.

I did read a recent review of CURSE OF THE FACELESS MAN that pointed out that the title monster is supposed to be one of those unearthed Pompeii volcano victims, but actually only the molds of the bodies formed from them being covered in lava and ash survived (sort of like reverse fossils) and plaster was poured into the molds to form those dramatic 'death moment' figures. So the monster in this film is technically a big lump of ambulatory plaster-of-Paris! Sort of like the Ghost of the Cardiff Giant haunting a plaster cast of the original plaster fake in Mark Twain's A Ghost Story.

 This is good news indeed.  :drink:

I know that MGM own almost all of the Cannon Films library and I wish that MGM would then put out Pete Walker's House Of The Long Shadows on DVD. That would make my day indeed.
