Title: What movies do you have that no one else has ever heard of?
Post by: Inyarear on June 22, 2007, 01:02:56 PM
As I once told my dad when he brought home a dreadful Z-grade movie he'd gotten for 25 cents at the local discount store, the reason some movies are so rare is that they deserve to be. (I don't even remember what movie it was, but it had something to do with a TV evangelist charlatan running into a real miracle worker and what happens after that. That whole premise may sound interesting, but the film really wasn't.)

On the other hand, some films are actually quite good, and they're rare simply because they weren't very flashy and didn't appeal to a huge market. Several animated pieces I have fit this description: the 1971 version of "The Selfish Giant" for instance, and "The Mouse and His Child" which looked like an animated version of what were called "underground" comics, featuring Shrews marching with Dick Nixon campaign buttons as their shields among other bizarre visuals. The former I'd seen in elementary school, and the latter my mother had seen in an independent theater in the week or so it had been shown. Until the rise of the internet, it hadn't been possible to rediscover either one.

Most of the rare films I recall are, in fact, children's films, since they're half-forgotten memories of mine from childhood. "The Great Land of Small" is one I've recently been able to reacquire. When I told Mom about these memories, she at first asked me whether I hadn't just dreamed of the whole thing, but I eventually figured out what it was and where to get it, and now I have a copy. (It's only available as a fullscreen VHS, though. Grrr!) As I told her, I remember going and seeing it in the theater for someone's birthday party (possibly my own) when I was a kid. Looking back now, I begin to realize that the reason so few others have seen it is that it was a local product: the film was shot in Canada, and distributed only to a few theaters in the area. (I was living in Minnesota at the time).

"The Great Land of Small" may be the least-well-known movie I have in my collection. I may have to do a review of it for this place sometime. (St. Patrick's day would be a fitting day for it; it features a dwarf evidently playing a leprechaun, though no one actually calls him that. The children find him at the end of a rainbow, though, and he has a bag of magical "goldy gold" that he gives the villain early in the film, so he's a leprechaun, all right.) If anyone here has ever heard of it, do tell me! I know someone else has to have seen it, but I've never met any of them in person, only online.

What about you people? Got any films no one else has ever heard of? I'll bet our esteemed moderator has piles of them, but even he can't have seen them all. What no-brand movies have you got? Bonus points to you if even the Internet Movie Data Base has never heard of it, or if it has it, but it has no reader comments at all on it.

The most obscure movie I own would have to be The Worm Eaters. The Mrs. and I also seem to be the only people who like it for that matter. It’s one of our favorite movies. Yeah, it's a cheesy b-movie, but it puts a mile-wide smile our faces! I'm being Umgar for Halloween. I've got the rose and the platform shoe. I also used to own Flesh Eating Mothers but I sold it. I wasn't terribly fond of it, and a acquaintance offered $10 for it. One born every minute, as they say. I've also got this movie called A Bell from Hell, a very overlooked Spanish horror film. Kicks the crap out of any of those wretched Blind Dead movies. Ugh! I got one of those 4 in 1 jobbers with the third one on it. Awful. However, in the same set I did luck out. I got the uncut House by the Cemetery and unknowingly completed Fulci's zombie cycle. Also El Espanto Surge de la Tumba (Horror Rises from the Tomb) which is one of the worst-yet-somehow-entertaining movies I've ever seen. I've never seen a horror movie degrade into a soft core porn in such a way before or since. Its something else.

I also own a copy of THE WORM EATERS.  Some other obscure movies I own are:

- Teenage Strangler
- Teenage Gang Debs
- The Violent Years
- Gril Gang
- The Defilers
- Scum of the Earth
- The Master Gunfighter (one of Tom Laughlin's non-Billy Jack movies)
- Funny Games

Plus, there are quite a few movies in the Mill Creek 50 movies packs that I own that many people have probably never heard of.

SOUL VENGANCE-A blaxploitation movie from the 70's. Also known as WELCOME HOME,BROTHER CHARLES. I got it on an old Xenon Video. It's about a guy who goes to prison, and some kindo weird voodoo gives him the power to grow his d1ck to boa size...and he strangles people with it! :buggedout:
CALIFORNIA REICH-documentary made in the late 60's or early 70's about the Neo Nazi party in California. Watch a nice, homespun mom bake a cake decorated with swastikas! Watch dum rednecks teach pre schoolers about Hitler! Twisted sh!t...very disturbing. :bluesad:
.Track of the MOONBEAST- Scaly monster runs rampant in low budget nonsenese.Watch a cartoon metorite hit a guy and turn him into the title monster! COOL!
.DEVIL MASTER-aka DEMON LOVER-made right here in good old Michigan,by the genuis who gave us HELL COMES TO FROGTOWN,Donald Jackson.A Ted Nugent wannabe uses black magic to kill his buddies! And summons a demon too! And Gunnar Hansen has a bit part! And it's really badly acted! And dumb! And I love it!
Usta have MANSON (1972) a documentary on the Family that is rarer than chicken lips now!But my numbskull step son loaned it out...and I cannot find it ANYWHERE! Dammit! :hot:

I have a quite a few movies in my Mill Creek packs that I've never heard of!   :bouncegiggle:

I also have those two Treasures from the American Film Institute Archives collections, which are chock full or obscure stuff like ROSE HOBART (1936), the 1928 version of THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER, and the 1916 version of SNOW WHITE.

I have a quite a few films with Bernard Herrmann scores that have never been released on VHS or DVD like HANGOVER SQUARE, WHITE WITCH DOCTOR, A HATFUL OF RAIN, TWISTED NERVE, and THE NIGHT DIGGER that are lovingly recorded and traded amongst us Herrmannophiles.

I also have a bunch of bizarre stop motion animated films by the likes of Jan Svankmajer, Charlie Bowers, Jiri Trnka, and, my favorite, Ladislaw Starewicz. They used to show brief clips of Starewicz's films on the old USA Night Flight. If you ever watched that show and caught a clip of some bizarre b&w animated stuff involving puppets, frogs, and demons and thought "WHAT THE &@&# WAS THAT?!?" it was probably Starewicz.   :teddyr:

I own a film called "The Thing". Not a lot of people I know has heard of it but no wonder! If no one told me that it was from the 80's I would've guessed that it was from the 60's! The movie is terrible. Who knew that people's eyes could actually pop like paintballs? I know I didin't. Yeah, I'm not really sure if it's burned or something but I do know that not a lot of people have seen this movie before.

I've got a cassette of "Lobster Man from Mars" with Tony Curtis that I've never taken out of its shrinkwrap.  It's supposed to be a comedy about low-budget movie making.

I've also got a double-cassette of "The Tripods" which is the first half of John Christopher's book trilogy.   I've also got "The Day it Came to Earth" with George Gobel.

Generally speaking, if something's on DVD it's not that obscure.   "Track of the Moonbeast" is on one of those four-movie packs you can usually find in Suncoast stores for around $8.  Kind of a fun film, though.

If Paul Naschy titles are obscurities then. . .

Fury of the Wolfman
Night of the Werewolf
Horror Rises from the Tomb
Vengeance of the Zombies
Werewolf Shadow (AKA Werewolf vs. the Vampire Women)
Werewolf vs. the Vampire Women (Yeah I have this version too)
Count Dracula's Great Love

And, let's see, has anyone heard of these. .

War Goddess
Gladiator Eroticus
Killers Eroticus
Vampire Stakes
Spaced Out
Wham Bam Thank You Spaceman
Star Crystal
Neon City
Wizards of the Demon Sword
Inhumanoid
Future War
One Million AC/DC
Twisted Justice
Pizza Wars
Star Odyssey
War of the Robots
Cosmos: War of the Planets
The Pickle. . .

Actually probably most of my video collection would qualify.  ;)

"The Selfish Giant" was a made-for-TV film that I remember very fondly and was a faithful adaptation of Oscar Wilde's story.  THE MOUSE AND HIS CHILD is one of my favorite animations, though I haven't seen it in at least 20 years; in the late 70s I had first seen it on HBO several times.  It's a wonderful, strange, adult animation.

Some less seen ones I have on VHS:
CONDEMNED TO LIVE
MOLE MEN AGAINST THE SON OF HERCULES
THE THIRTEENTH GUEST
TRIUMPH OF THE WILL
THE SNOW QUEEN
(Russian animation)

I have a quite a few films with Bernard Herrmann scores that have never been released on VHS or DVD like HANGOVER SQUARE, WHITE WITCH DOCTOR, A HATFUL OF RAIN, TWISTED NERVE, and THE NIGHT DIGGER that are lovingly recorded and traded amongst us Herrmannophiles.
I think what converted me into a VERTIGO lover was Herrmann's score (an homage to Tristan und Isolde).  I have CDs with several Herrmann soundtracks including THE GHOST AND MRS MUIR, PSYCHO, MYSTERIOUS ISLAND, TAXI DRIVER...I love many film music composers (Rosza, Jarre, Williams, Steiner) but there's never been anyone as great as Herrmann.

I wish The Mouse and His Child would get a DVD release.  It's quite good (the book by Russell Hoban is better of course, and his other books are brilliant as well).

I have a number of things that the general population probably don't know very well, but most of you would probably be familiar with them.  I've only got a few that I think are truly obscure:

Arsenal -- Confusing as hell silent Ukranian film from 1928 about an event during World War I.
Land of Look Behind -- An odd documentary based around the funeral of Bob Marley, but is mainly about the people of Jamaica and Rasafarian culture.  I don't really care either way about reggae or Bob Marley, but this is a really good and really unique film.  Fans of Herzog's documentaries would probably enjoy it.
Powwow Highway -- A road trip buddy movie about two childhood friends from a Cheyenne reservation.  It's pretty decent and gives you a realistic glimpse of reservation life.

I know i pluged this movie LOTS of times on here before, but G-MEN FROM HELL is something that I think would be every b-movie fans dream come true. SO much goes into this movie, (costumed vigulanties, psycotic robots, a gay cop, homicidal hand puppet, mad scientist, a dumb blond, and the devil himself.) As well as some awsome casting. (Robert Goule, The cop from Devils Rejects, Gary Beusey, and alot more.)

I have a couple of weird ones, both in the reviews section and yet to be reviewed.  "The Witch With Flying Head" is one, same with "Warbus" and "Battle Beneath the Earth."

One that Ken Begg has that I would love to get is "Mistress of the Apes."  Most of the film is garbage, but there is a sudden musical scene in the middle that is a riot.

i own this pretty disturbing Austrian film called "In A Glass Cage." per the Psychotronic Movie Guide - the director of it had a pie thrown in his face at the Cannes Film Festival.

and if you watch it you just might want to throw one yourself. i'm not even sure if i really like the film, but like a bad car wreck it's hard to ignore. even John Waters said it's a film that he fears would lose him friends if he showed it to them.

I've got this one as well. At the risk of sounding like an un-American dirty Commie, I really love those Russian avant guarde films from the 20s and 30s. What great images! I've also got MAN WITH A MOVIE CAMERA, AELITA: QUEEN OF MARS, and several by by Eisenstein. IVAN THE TERRIBLE PART 2 is one of the most unbelievably wild and bizarre films around.

I don't own it, but the video store I used to go to had Hollywood High, which i don't think has been released on DVD. it's awesome, somewhere between Animal House and Revenge of the Nerds.  It hada a good sequal too.

My 8th grade Tech teacher showed us Man with a Movie Camera. He showed it every year his whole career. He also showed us Duck and Cover, Red Dawn, and Nightbreaker. He had a thing for Soviet Russia and the Cold War. The Ghost and Mrs. Muir is my special lady friend's favorite.

I never saw Hollywood High, but I did see Hollywood High Part 2! I didn't really like that one too much. I heard the first one was much better. I rather did enjoy My Tutor and The Last American Virgin in the somewhere between Animal House and Revenge of the Nerds category, though. Incidently, she's got the Brian May soundtrack of Dr. Giggles. I've got to upgrade that one. It seems all of my VHS are going the way of the Quagga these days.

Kester, was that Star Crystal the same as Brigette Neilson's Galaxis, because Galaxis also goes under that name? I actually saw it as Star Crystal when it was on WPIX 11 a looong time ago.

War of the Robots is awesome! I've got that one. How about The Last Man on Earth? Not the Vincent Price one (which is actually an incredible movie) but the one from the 20s. Local yokel Elmer Smith is the last fertile man on the planet. Man, that one cracks me up! I don't know if I saw The Thirteenth Guest or just heard about it. Ginger Rogers was in a film called A Shriek in the Night that I just saw within the past couple years. I thought that one was really good.

I've got a ton of doubles but notably I've got three copies of Oasis of the Zombies, three copies of The Satanic Rites of Dracula, and four copies of The Snake People.

I liked hollywood high 2, but part one had a little more personality.

Another one I used to force people to watch that hasn't been released on DVD is "Tomcat: dangerous desires" starring richard Grieco.  It has to be the worst movie ever.  Really.  i've seen all the ed wood and something weird things.  it's just in it's own universe.

While I wouldn't doubt I've owned both on video at some point I meant this one. . .

The movie that used what looks like store bought toy "laser" guns and had this super futuristic computer tracking display. .

War of the Robots is awesome! I've got that one.

Now if someone would just relesae a box set including ALL the other titles in the series.

I, too, have Oasis of the Zombies.  Though it's on one of those multi-packs and looks horrible.  Which is just as well since I prefer Zombie Lake (http://www.hinterwelt.com/reviews/Zombie_Lake.htm), which is NOT the worst zombie movie ever made.  It just seems that way while you're watching it.  ;)

As for Satanic Rites of Dracula, I have that too.  Kind of hard NOT to own a copy since it seems like every PD label on the planet released a version of it.

I've got a movie on VHS that stars none other than vocalist/bass player Les Claypool from the band Primus in it.

It's called The Adventures of the Kung-Fu Rascals.

Les plays the evil sheriff in it.

I think that it's directed by the guy who did Gyver.

Everyone I had shown this movie to (including some hardcore Primus fans like myself) have never heard of it. I ran across it for a dollar at a mom/pop video store that was going out of business.

In exchange for helping proof his reviews, Andrew kindly offered to gift me with some dvd's.  I requested a copy of THE WORM EATERS, which he granted with some trepidation.

I'd say the best movie I own that most people have never heard of would be THE REFLECTING SKIN, a very Lynch-esque film about the troubled childhood of a young boy in the midwest.  It seems he believes his neighbor is a vampire, his brother is dying of radiation poisoning and there is a child murderer lurking.

I've also always been interested in this film: WAX, OR THE DISCOVERY OF TELEVISON AMONG THE BEES (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105791/).

I remember that movie! It was one of those really late, stress filled college nights when you go semi insane from whatever, wander into a buddy's room where you know you can get a drink, and they're watching some ridiculous movie. Then you sit down in utter awe of what's going on and forget what the hell you were doing. I almost totally forgot about that one! I know what I'm geting next.

I really liked HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY, on the account that I really enjoy Fulci movies. I like his camera work and get a kick out of his post-narrative style. I feel that the whole point of Fulci's canon is to push the limits of how you define "over the top." Fulci never seems to concern himself with how well the actors are delivering their lines or how the plot twists in the script are going to impact the movie. Fulci is concerned with the position of the camera, the idea of the scene (however abstract or nonsensical), and, of course, the blood. HBTC is a good example of that, the throat slashing scene in particular. The job could have been done with in one slice, but no. Four slashes later... The big problem with HBTC is Bob, one of the most annoying children in cinematic history! I don't know, Fulci movies are addicting comparable to the way people get sucked in by Springer. I've got a horror movie club at the Teen center I run, and they were half and half on that one. Those kids always surprise me though. They all hated Suspiria but literally got up and cheered at the end of Phenomena. (It was Italian Horror month)

I recently purchased a weird Roger Corman produced (not sure if he directed) flick called Hollywood Boulevard. It was basically the most expensive scenes from the company's movies up to that point cut into new footage about a girl trying to make it as an actress. Parts of it were funny but it ran way too long without getting to an actual point. Paul Bartel stars and Godzilla makes a cameo appearance. Not sure if it counts but I know my friends had never heard of it.

Alot of Full Moon films, the reviews to some of them are on this site, such as the first three Puppet Master movies. There's also the "Subspecies" series, "Doll Graveyard" (which is pretty recent), and "The Gingerdead Man."
Other than Full Moon, I have movies that are what I call "Trimark Treasures," like the Leprechaun series, the "Warlock" movies, and a killer doll movie called "Pinnochio's Revenge."

Welcome aboard metalthrashinmad and crawlfan.

Ah, "The Invincible Barbarian" is a good one.  I have a copy of that crazy flick as well.  If memory serves, he is not as impervious to damage as the title might lead you to believe.

Would you believe that "Pinocchio's Revenge" was released on LD?  Probably a very limited run, but it was.  Along those same lines, I have a LD of a movie called "The Erotic Adventures of Pinocchio."  At one point, some girls use Pinocchio as a May Pole (yes, the part of him that you would expect to be used in an erotic version).

Went on a quest to find a copy of THE SELFISH GIANT, paid $25 w/shipping for a used VHS; watched it tonight.  It's odd, I must look more closely at the credits...a Canadian production?

It is still much as I remember it, charming and touching, though the Christian element unfolded slowly in my memory.  Based on Oscar Wilde's story . . . Wilde himself converted to Catholicism on his deathbed.

My favorite line has gotta be-

Marc- "....It's black."

At one point, some girls use Pinocchio as a May Pole (yes, the part of him that you would expect to be used in an erotic version).

Yes, I bet I can guess how that went, too:

"No really, babe, I'll still respect you in the morning."
[Sound of Pinocchio's nose growing]

I know i pluged this movie LOTS of times on here before, but G-MEN FROM HELL is something that I think would be every b-movie fans dream come true. SO much goes into this movie, (costumed vigulanties, psycotic robots, a gay cop, homicidal hand puppet, mad scientist, a dumb blond, and the devil himself.) As well as some awsome casting. (Robert Goule, The cop from Devils Rejects, Gary Beusey, and alot more.)

Haven't had a chance to watch the movie yet, but it's based on a comic from Madman creator Mike Allred that was as good as any of his other stuff. Speaking of which, I'd love to see him follow up G-Men From Hell with an Atomics movie!... since I'm pretty sure the rights to a Madman movie are still tied up in developmental limbo.

:buggedout:

.DEVIL MASTER-aka DEMON LOVER-made right here in good old Michigan,by the genuis who gave us HELL COMES TO FROGTOWN,Donald Jackson.A Ted Nugent wannabe uses black magic to kill his buddies!

Dammit! :hot:

Soul Vengeance made it onto a DVD release in all of it's killer shlong glory. I picked it up as soon as I read the review for the movie a few years ago. Devil Master/The Demon Lover/Master of Evil is a personal favorite of mine (meaning I hated it so bad I had to own it) and I was so happy to learn that there's a "making of" documentary about it! Manson was disturbing and apparently also won an Academy Award! Unfortunately I'm afraid you'll have to punish your stepson severely for loaning it out, as the DVD was quickly halted and recalled because the dipsh!ts at Brentwood or whoever it was that released it never got permission to do so. As such, it's no longer allowed to be sold through public means like K-Mart or eBay. I think the last place I saw a copy of it for sale was at a comic book convention and the guy wanted $40 for it. Thankfully I picked mine up when it was first printed and made a back-up copy in case anything should happen to it.

The MANSON copy I had was on vhs...which I had in it's ORIGINAL box,I got it from Cape Copy Center about 12 years ago! As for punishing Jim...well,he's kinda busy in Iraq right now. I have seen original vhs tapes for sale on ebay...,but as you say,I've seen them go for up to $70,much more  moolah than I  can spend!  :bluesad:
I'd keep your copy of DEMON LOVER,as Donald Jackson(RIP) :bluesad:,said in a while back in an interview,he no longer even owned the rights to it anymore...and I believe it's tuff as nails to find a copy anymore.I found a large clamshell vhs copy at the flea market years ago...and by the generic box art,I wasn't even sure what I was buying! What a surprize I got!

Yes it is, thanks to our mutual friend Grendel72, and She-Gods is easily the dumbest dang thing I got for Squidmas last year.  It's just this oddly slow and unsatisfying romp on an island full of lovely maidens in sarongs who are being pressed into service as workers in, I guess, Dr. Evil's Factory Of Dark Secrets.  Not NEARLY enough sharks, gosh darn it.

Next Of Kin (1982)

I just recently bought the R2 DVD. Seems like not too many people remember this New Zealand-made chiller. I even had to explain the plot/movie to Code Red when they were looking for suggestions for possible releases at another site two years ago  :teddyr:

Two shot-and-released directly to VHS horrors from the 80s: BOARDING HOUSE and SCREAM DREAM.  BH is actually a laff riot and minor cult item (I may do a reader review some day).  SD not so much...

I have it on VHS in a glorious old, black plastic (oversized case).  My edition is called The Devil Master too.  It's hilarious.  In addition to Gunnar Hansen, there's a Frank Zappa lookalike who sticks out his tongue.  You just can't beat the '70s.

:teddyr:

That's pretty incredible.  I was a huge Night Flight fan.  I used to work with someone who was one of the producers for the show.  Have to sit him down some day and shake some stories out of him.  Twisted Nerve...is that a.k.a. Horror High?  I recall seeing it on our Tampa Bay horror host show Creature Feature with Dr. Paul Bearer either in the late '70s or early '80s...very gory for Saturday afternoon TV!!!  Like Horror Hospital, it's one of my all-time faves.

Re.  Most Obscure Films --
This is good because it ties in the Night Flight & Lobster Man From Mars references here --
The most obscure/unknown/little-seen movies I own have to be The Firesign Theatre films "Nick Danger and The Case of The Missing Yolk", "Martian Space Party", and "Everything You Know is Wrong".  Night Flight used to almost incessantly play "Nick Danger/Yolk" every Saturday night around '91/'92, yet nobody seems to own it.  You can get boot DVD transfers of it, but my copy is proudly in a plastic VHS box from Pacifica that suggests "adjusting your VMP Player should tracking fail".  It seems to have been made orginally as a shot-on-videotape video in 1983.  It combines a film-noir detective story with a look at a dystopian future.  One character walks by in a "Rolling Stones Farewell Tour:  1999" T-shirt, which is hysterical on so many levels, considering how old "Nick" is!  If you remember a musical parody number making fun of fast food:  "Rat in A Box" -- which Night Flight would sometimes run on its own -- that was from this film.
You should open your Lobster Man From Mars box & watch it, as parts of it are quite funny -- It's a cobbled-together mishmash from different films, ala "They Saved Hitler's Brain", wherein the film makers are using found footage from someone else's horror movie to do their own story of some film-exec-wannabes trying to convince Curtis to back their picture.  Phil Proctor, of The Firesign Theatre, plays one  of the people sucking up to Tony Curtis, and has some funny lines.
"Martian Space Party" actually used to play as part of double-bills in the early '70's, and I remember people trying to describe it too me long before I'd even heard of The Firesign Theatre, however almost nobody has seen or heard of it today.  Mine is a VHS transfer from 35mm film made sometime when bootlegging was just getting started.  The film itself is like the comedy albumn of the same name from 1972:  Different scenes of live theatre randomly cut together & interspersed with shots of windup Godzilla toys & lit matches destroying minature sets.  I don't recommend it unless you're already familiar with their work, as it is extremely disjointed.
"Everything You Know is Wrong"(1976) got little or no distribution, and never seemed to have had a commercial release.  It's about aliens, UFOs, Government Conspiracy, and just plain weirdness. You can get a modern copy of it, along with the other films I mention and more, at www.firesigntheatre.com or www.lodestone.com.
peter obscure/denny huh?

I have just been loaned "Cannibal the Musical".  I had never heard of it til now.  It apparently is Trey Parkers film school dropout project.  I have not finished it just yet but so far it is shaping up promising.  It is  a Troma distributed film and I am a lil surprised there is no review up on this site for it.  It was done I believe in 91 or 92, and features Matt Stone and "Sqeak" from Baseketball.  I have already heard a number of soon to be South Park Voices in it also.

It's a schpdoinkle day!

First I would like to say:
The Mouse and His Child, I have been trying forever to remember the name of this movie, it was one of my absolute favorites as a child. A million thanks

A year or two ago my brother came home from the mall with a movie for me. It's called Active Stealth and stars Daniel Baldwin. Damn Baldwins look too much alike, I originally wrote "Steven". It's a pretty standard B-grade military movie: guy loses friend in combat, guy moves on with life, guy finds out friend is alive and goes to save him with advanced aircraft, twists and holes ensue. It's actually not all that bad if you can stand not-so-big dumb action.

This year I came home with one for him, a title called Pocket Ninjas, something I'd never heard of but it turned out he'd always go in and want to buy it. As far as I can tell it's either about Kid Ninjas or Ninja Midgets. I'm not sure since he hasn't opened it yet :tongueout:

War Without End- Filipino Rambo II ripoff thats hilarious!
Strike Commando- Just like War Without End but funnier!
Ninja Squad- Billy the ninja looks for a job in the big city, 2 movies edited together. The Billy segments don't even have ninjas!
Majestic Thunderbolt- Some sort of crime film. After watching it twice I still don't know the plot! But it features toilet bombings and chickens getting shot at the sea shore! Another cut and paste movie.
Top Mission- The king of cut and paste movies! No IMDB page. You can only get it in Germany.

I have a movie called Thunder Run that seems to be surprisingly obscure.  Forrest Tucker and his kid drive their fortified truck across the desert, being attacked by terrorists on bikes, in killer VW Beetles, and other vehicles.

I also own a HORRIBLE Chinese movie called Centipede Horror.  It has about two minutes of centipede action and about 80 minutes of wizards chanting.

EDIT: I can't remember the title, and I don't have it anymore because my VCR shredded the tape when I rewound it after watching it only once, but I used to have a movie about a pirate, a kung fu master, a judo girl, a time-traveling Nazi cyborg, and some other people searching for a treasure worth $100 billion.  Yes, they said 100 billion *dollars* despite it being set in the 1600s or some such.  It looked like some guys landed a camera, some film stock, and one boom mic (it deserved its own credit) and made a movie with whatever costumes they could rent from the local shop.  The funniest thing was that EVERY female had a nude scene but it was obviously the same stacked, tall, white woman body doubling each time, even thoush she didn't even slightly resemble any of the "actresses"!  When the short, flat-chested, Asian, judo girl took off her gi to shower (yes, a shower in a PIRATE SHIP!) she suddenly became a tall, stacked, white woman who was only shown from the neck down.  The entire movie was that incompetent, it was amazing.

I'm told the characters in this movie sound like they were stolen from a video game called World Heroes 2.

Actually, this is a touchy subject for a movie board such as this.  After all, look at the title of the page.   :bouncegiggle:  Also, there are so many good fans of bad movies herein, there are almost certainly some (or at least one) who have heard of the most obscure films you could possibly mention.

But as for what I personally own, I'd say the most obscure is Lion Man (starring Turkish Star Wars' own Cunyet Arkin).  I first saw this tape at a flea market many moons ago and immediately recognized Arkin ("Hey!  It's that guy from the Turkish ripoff thing!") and watched it as soon as I got it home.  MAN!  This one manages to mix Turkish/kung-fu fighting, the Crusades and mega-violence all in one pretty package - not to mention the expected English dubbing and bombastic music score.

Just to show how much I love you all and want to spread the wealth, you can find several clips of Lion Man over on YouTube: just search for "Lion Man Arkin" and the appropriate clips will come up.

I own a lot of odd/obscure foreign films, does that count?

Here's a few titles...

Leolo

Teta i la lluna - literally means "Tit and The Moon", it stars, among others, Mathilda May, the hot chick who was naked through out most of Lifeforce (and, yes, she's topless in this film as well.)

Army Brats a film from... crap, can't remember... Finland, maybe?  But the world's most dysfunctional.

Who Would Kill A Child - very creepy low budget film about a man and his pregnant wife you go to a seemingly deserted island to find something is VERY wrong in the neighborhood.

Immoral Tales - trashy sleaze from the same dude that directed La Bete (The Beast)

Ring of Darkness - film about some chick with a pact with the devil, and like, her daughter gets possessed and they have to fight each other or some such.  Actually, haven't gotten around to watching this one yet.

Klatretosen (Catch the Girl) - this is actually the film "Catch that Kid" was based on.  (Haven't seen the American version, but I think it's pretty much the same as this one).

Return of the Alien's Deadly Spawn - weirdass film about a bunch of tadpole like creatures in some family's basement.

Grapes of Death Z Grade foreign zombie film

Zombie Bloodbath - low, low budget horror film by Todd Sheets although it's interesting how, reportedly, they managed to get 900 some-odd total zombies for the whole film.

The Being - s**tty film about... well, some creature or something.  So dark I can't tell what the hell is going on half the time.

Night of the Bloody Apes - actually, wait, I don't have this anymore... but basically it's about this guy who gets a heart transplant from an ape (or something) and that causes him to turn into some deranged man-ape monster.

It's not a movie, but when I was a kid, we had all these tapes of a British cartoon about a sheepdog named Barney. I started talking about it in Spanish last week, and everyone just thought I was crazy.

If you started talking to me in Spanish about a British cartoon about a sheepdog named Barney, I'd proably assume you were crazy too!

The Canterville Ghost (1997)

I don't know how obscure it is, but no one seems to ever have heard of it, and neither have I. If you're familiar with the Oscar Wilde story you will enjoy it.
