Title: Banner Exchange Services?
Post by: Andrew on July 09, 2007, 09:28:53 AM
I have a quick question for anyone who already has experience in this area.  What is a good banner exchange service?  We're coming up on a big b-movie site roundtable (and have also had a couple of efforts in the past) and I was looking to get the word out.  After that, I'll probably use it for the mini-roundtables and just "Hey, did you know about Badmovies.org?" but the focus is for this roundtable in two weeks.

It would be best if the service allows me to direct visitors to a specific page (not just the homepage), since we do have a supersoaker page for the B-Movie Beach Party roundtable.  It is here on Badmovies.org, though it is a "stand alone" and not a normal part of the site.

I can easily slip the banner exchange into the site's network and generate the needed traffic to earn credits; just looking for a good one to use.

Thanks for your time.

Most of the banner exchanges of which I am a member are for adult sites, and, unfortunately, too many of them that are not adult banner exchanges will have popups and other assorted annoyances tagged onto their exchange code.

http://www.showyoursite.com/?refid=3738 provides a 10:9 exchange ratio for free and does not use popups.

*Edit: they do have a tendency to use your email address liberally, so you might want to give them a throwaway.

I've never used them, but Horrorfind offers a banner exchange: http://exchange.horrorfind.com/banner/

http://www.gothex.com/ offers a free banner exchange for gothic and horror related sites. A 1:1 exchange ratio and 10,000 free credits to start.

http://www.rotolink.com/ offers a button and banner exchange program. They are a little slow to get new members approved, so sending them an email after signing up does help.

You can find lots of button exchanges and topsites on my site at http://trafficclose.com/

Have you tried out the SVBell banner exchange you sometimes advertise here?

Thanks for the pointers.  I'm going to give Horrorfind a try.  I did actually subscribe to SV Bell's banner exchange.  Just waiting for approval from him.  I'm not certain if he actually maintains his site anymore.  The banner exchange does not look to have much variety in it right now - so there probably are not many sites participating.
