The Movieside website is down, but you can get all the infor you need at www.myspace.com/musicboxmassacre (http://www.myspace.com/musicboxmassacre).

I went the first year, and had a great time.  They had a costume contest, a burlesque show, and a few surprises.  Sadly, I didn't last the full 24 hours... I slept through the Howling and left right before the last show, Near Dark (I've still never seen it, and I left because i wanted to see it and not sleep through it...)

I couldn't make it last year, so I blew possible my only chance to hang out with Joe Dante.

This year I'll be there, and I'll be bringing friends and family.  They've got a good mix of movies I love (Abbot and Costello meet Frankenstein), and movies I've always wanted to see (Equinox... I'm too poor for the Criterion DVD).  They have yet to announce a 3-D movie, which they've had the last two years.  I'm hoping they continue the tradition this year.  Plus they have Fred Dekker, who I have several questions for...

Sounds like a fun one.  I'd love to see The Monster Squad on the big screen and would kill to meet Dekker in person.  The guy has made some of my favorite films from the 80s.  Too bad he doesn't work in the business anymore.

As for the other flicks they are showing....it's a mixed bag.  Freaks is great and Peeping Tom is a real treat if you've not seen it before.  Halloween 3 should be interesting if you have the right crowd watching it with you.

Have fun and make sure to ask Dekker about a Night Of The Creeps DVD release.  He keeps saying "It's in the works." but I need more info than that!
