Title: DC+-+
Post by: Rambo on September 14, 2007, 12:41:20 PM
Hi, I am little Rambo from Chinu-Zulutistan and in our country it is forbidden to buy movies apart from those that deal with the glorious rise of our emperor King Rambo (which is by coincidence also my name, actually itīs the only allowed name here).
Also my parents are very, very poor and thus I have never bought a single movie in my life.
Noe I hear from this program, DC+-+, which helps you to download stuff that you donīt find on this torrant thingy. Only you have to know the right servers...
So I was wondering if maybe you do?

Yes, he is.  Rambo is from Germany.  I believe he is looking for people who know good Direct Connect hubs.

So long as the torrents or shared files discussed are not copyright infringement, I do not have a problem with this.  Anything in the yellow or red areas is a no go, because that can get the site in trouble.

Wow.  I didn't think anyone used Direct Connect anymore.

I toyed with it briefly years ago but found it to be such a huge pain in the ass and every hub required you to share absurd quantities of stuff.  Many of them had sdhare requirements that exceeded the total size of my hard drive.

Do people still use file sharing apps like Kazaa and stuff like that?

That's actually from the movie Krull.
Ergo the magician says it.

Yeah, the program isn't worth using at this point.  At first it was good, now it's become too convoluted and aggravating to use; mainly due to it's users.  Kazza is eat up with viruses and spyware, so that one is out for me.  My personal favorite is the torrents which I have been using religiously for a few years now.

Ever since the bad ol' days, if I wanted something, I would go through my associates on IRC.
I still do, but not nearly as often.

I occasionally use Soulseek if I'm looking for something REALLY obscure, but for the most part I abandoned P2P apps in favor of Bit Torrent a long, long time ago.  Many of the public trackers are as awful as Kazaa and there are so many users and no conventions for standards but it's better than nothing.  It's really important to fall in with a private tracker since my experience with those has been much better than any other community.  Quality is usually tightly controlled.

I'm specifically barred from talking about which groups I'm involved with, but I can say that I have an Oink account.

I usually use www.scrapetorrent.com (http://www.scrapetorrent.com).  It's a great site and they scour all of the other tracker sites to find the best, and most seeded torrent you are looking for.  So far, I've found everything I've been looking for.  It's so much better than going to each site individually and searching that way.

Now a.) tell your retarded mummy/daddy or whoever spells and reads sth. out for you not to ask me anymore stupid questions, you allready know the answers (of). Or should have known, if  are for real at all and not b.) by some freak chance one of them monkeys with a keyboard that you hear so much about.

@all
If this subject "Ash" ever formulates a gramaticallie corect sentenz again you can safely conclude that option a.) is in fact the case.

Go away, Rambo, quit flame-baiting here.
