Title: The Karate Kid
Post by: Mr. DS on September 14, 2007, 08:01:06 PM
Alright, I have to admit its corny but as a kid I was a pretty big fan of The Karate Kid.  I had the t shirt that came with the Ralph Macchio headband.  I owned the action figures with the karate chop action too.  I catch it on tv once and awhile and still enjoy it.  What kid of the 80s doesn't use the term "wax on, wax off" once and awhile as an adult.

Ha!  I actually saw part 2 in the theater and thought it was ok. I remember thinking that most of the plot was covered in the Peter Cetera video.

Part 3 I don't ever recall sitting through completely.  Wasn't Ralph Macchio like 30 something in that one?  The "next" Karate Kid with Hillary Swank if I recall was odd.  I caught that on television once.  Didn't it feature Michael Ironsides as the bad guy?

part 3 was bad. In fact i have a theory that usually the third sequel in a movie series is often the official "Kiss of death". There are a few RARE exceptions to this where the third is actually the best, but only when the film stops at 3.

In fact part 3 came on the other nite, and it co-stars that actress who was in Teen Witch (one of the worst acted movies ever). Seems like every movie had him falling in love forever with a brand new girl. that danielson was a pimp

Now the hillary swank one was just lame-o with a capital O. I mean what was the deal with the falcon in the school? Such bad acting, it amazes me she won and oscar

Yeah that 5 seconds kind or wrapped it up.  lol

Didn't Swank go to a Buddhist temple in that film and she disappointed the monks when she killed an insect?  She was quite dramatic in that film.
