Post by: Scott on October 28, 2007, 03:24:18 PM I changed to to SLEEPER which is the correct title instead of "The Sleeper". It's a Woody Allen film Dr_Malavaqua. He has many pre-80's comedies that are great. Including TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN and BANNANA'S. Welcome to the forum Dr_Malavaqua.
Wanted to give mention to ACE VENTURA: WHEN NATURE CALLS. Must give acknowledgement to OFFICE SPACE and TRADING PLACES. Title: Re: Top Ten Comedies? Post by: RCMerchant on October 28, 2007, 06:55:32 PM . Any thing with the 3 STOOGES-(no Joe or Curly Joe,please !)

Title: Re: Top Ten Comedies? Post by: Killer Bees on November 05, 2007, 12:28:02 AM In no particular order
1. Brain Donors 2. Stripes 3. Spies Like Us 4. Spaceballs 5. Blazing Saddles 6. Caddyshack 7. Blues Brothers 8. The Great Race 9. It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World 10. Better Off Dead Title: Re: Top Ten Comedies? Post by: Rev. Powell on November 05, 2007, 09:29:13 PM Welcome Killer Bees! BRAIN DONORS is an interesting choice. Lots of critics panned it, but I remember liking it. Then again, I don't remember many "ha-ha" moments from it, just that I liked Bob Nelson's re-imagining of Harpo Marx. I should probably give it another chance. If you haven't already, check out the Marx Brothers' A NIGHT AT THE OPERA (1935), since BRAIN DONORS is basically a remake.

If you haven't already, check out the Marx Brothers' A NIGHT AT THE OPERA (1935), since BRAIN DONORS is basically a remake. Thanks for the welcome  I loved A Night At The Opera. Marx Bros are amongst my fave comedians. I laughed so hard at Brain Donors, I could barely breathe throughout the whole movie. This surprised me because at the time I was suffering from severe depression and NOTHING could even get me to raise a smile. I think that's why it will always be my number one fave comedy of all time. Plus, I just love slapstick! Title: Re: Top Ten Comedies? Post by: Scott on November 06, 2007, 10:27:14 AM Wow, I'm going to have to check out BRAIN DONERS. Looks funny...........
[youtube=425,350]http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZeovwuGknkw Burns & Allen were also great. I don't think they did any movies together though. I saw it in the theatre a couple years ago and it's lost nothing (so long as they lose the octopus  ) And less I fall in too deeply with you nostalgiaddicts let's stick to late 90s to early 21st century: Freddy Got Fingered (forget what you think of his show then or now, it was a riot) South Park (the movie) Me Myself and Irene (this will reaffirm any lost faith in Carey) Best in Show Meet the Parents Jay and Silent Bob strike back Anchor Man 40 year old virgin Superbad Title: Re: Top Ten Comedies? The only ones I've seen from your list are: Meet The Parents Anchor Man 40 Year Old Virgin All good comedies by the way. My favorite of the three is MEET THE PARENTS. Title: Re: Top Ten Comedies? FREDDY GOT FINGERED-I found it TOTALLY unfunny. I think it's for the same reason I found ME,MYSELF and IRENE unfunny...the main charecter is a un sympathetic scumbag...and I just can't empathize with him. And without that...I just lose interest in the film. I think comedy needs empathy. As for the SOUTH PARK movie...eh. It had it's moments...but it's shock humor...and I'm not easily shocked. Title: Re: Top Ten Comedies? Post by: HappyGilmore on November 07, 2007, 08:20:30 PM Oh, I don't know, maybe THE GOONIES! Only one I haven't seen is Superbad.I saw it in the theatre a couple years ago and it's lost nothing (so long as they lose the octopus  ) And less I fall in too deeply with you nostalgiaddicts let's stick to late 90s to early 21st century: Freddy Got Fingered (forget what you think of his show then or now, it was a riot) South Park (the movie) Me Myself and Irene (this will reaffirm any lost faith in Carey) Best in Show Meet the Parents Jay and Silent Bob strike back Anchor Man 40 year old virgin Superbad I'd say that Best in Show, Jay and Bob, Anchor Man, Meet the Parents are all hilarious, as is South Park. Freddy Got Fingered is not. I like Tom Green and thought his show was good, but a better performance by him came in 2000's Road Trip. Title: Re: Top Ten Comedies? Post by: CheezeFlixz on November 07, 2007, 08:32:02 PM In no order other than the order I thought of them in ...
