Title: Hundra (1983)
Post by: lester1/2jr on November 01, 2007, 09:05:26 AM
I was excited about this one.  Great title for starters.  The first 15 minutes or so is a long battle scene that doesn't skimp of the brutality or depravity you'd realisticly expect when a tribe of men sneak attacks a tribe of women.  Unfortunately, the thing loses momentum pretty quick and turns into an entirely predictable, somewhat wise acre-ish late night HBO  Lana Clarkson type deal.  The comentary track is insufferable.  You did your own stunts.  good for you HUNDRA.  They're cheesy wrestling moves that don't even work as camp.

I liked this one a lot.  I guess it just worked for me, because the anti-male angle is played so seriously.  Hundra hates men.  The writer was a man, which makes the lampooned male angle even funnier to me.

I said pretty much every point I could make in the review.  There is also at least one older forum thread about the movie.

I thought the packaging exceeded the product in quality
