Title: Fantasy Island (season one) Post by: lester1/2jr on November 15, 2007, 10:19:57 AM For those who don't remember beyond "Da Plane ! Da Plane!" The show was basically a loungey, dumbed down Twilight Zone. One of the ways they sort of cheated was whenever they felt like explaining some sort of twist they would, otherwise they just left it and acted like they could explain it if they wanted to. The first disc of this series features the pilot episode, the strongest one of the three on the disc, as well as what is basically ANOTHER pilot episode and then a regular episode.
pilot: good "most dangerous game " one, pretty good plot twist lady at her own funeral one, not that good bill bixby sandra dee one. 90 min other pilot: preposterous haunted house one, generic romantic one featuring cleavage expert Adriene Barbou, boring adoption guilt one. 90 min episode one: alright houdini guy one, stupid ladies want to live glamourously one. 45 min I watched all of them AND some other movie i rented. the pilot was the best. Ricardo Montabon was actually quite sinister in it. the show is really rather entertaining if you don't take it to seriously. It requires much suspension of disbelief and is essentially a trio or duo of b movies starring the celebrities of the day.
