WRAITH (charlie sheen) I get big laughs off both these films. Title: Re: post unintentionally funny 'tough guy' movies Post by: Rev. Powell on November 20, 2007, 11:05:36 PM ROAD HOUSE (Swayze)
Title: Re: post unintentionally funny 'tough guy' movies Post by: zombie no.one on November 21, 2007, 12:35:43 AM roadhouse! how could forget.
the bit where he's doing martial arts moves in the distance to some horrible synth soundtrack. classic Title: Re: post unintentionally funny 'tough guy' movies Post by: GoHawks on November 21, 2007, 01:18:04 AM Do Arnold Schwarzenegger (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000216/) movies count, or do you consider them 'intentionally' funny?
If they do count, Commando (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088944/) would be at the top of my list. :teddyr: Title: Re: post unintentionally funny 'tough guy' movies Post by: zombie no.one on November 21, 2007, 01:47:03 AM yeah man, schwartzenegger movies definitely count. they weren't marketed as 'comedies'... . I haven't seen Commando in years actually, but I'm sure lots of people probably think it's a really cool hard-man action movie, likewise his other films.

Cruise and by the same measure that other guy...saturday night fever, battlefield earth, thinks it's brave to play a fat woman while endorsing a homophobic cult. Whatsisname?
Title: Re: post unintentionally funny 'tough guy' movies Post by: Bonehead-XL on November 23, 2007, 03:50:27 AM You know, just about anything staring Van Damme or Segal would count. I also have a bit of a softspot for those awful DTV action films from the early nineties, usually staring someone like David Bradly or Don "The Dragon" Wilson. (My favorite is "Cyborg Cop.") A lot of Charles Bronson's later eighties films would fall into the same area, after his schtick became such a tired out cliche.
Title: Re: post unintentionally funny 'tough guy' movies Post by: AndyC on November 23, 2007, 09:23:03 AM I just watched Cobra on TV in the last week or so. First time since the 80s.
It was as if they had a checklist of things an action movie should have: Irreverent loner hero in sunglasses.....check Cool car for hero....check Likeable sidekick.....check Banter about sidekick's junk food....check Hot damsel in distress....check Big, ugly psycho villain.....check Cool, distinctive weapon for villain.....check Angry captain.....check Bleeding heart liberals and pushy reporters.....check Smarmy colleague....check Traitor cop....check Lots of dumb editorializing and philosophizing to sound deep....check Hostages....check Shootup in supermarket....check Plot.....sort of Motivation for crimes.....unclear Title: Re: post unintentionally funny 'tough guy' movies Post by: Neville on November 23, 2007, 10:44:03 AM What about Fred Dryer in "Death Before Dishonor"? Lousy movie and lousy acting, but the scene where he shoots a bazooka while driving a jeep is hilarious.
Patrick Swayze was also lot s of unintentional fun in "Road House", I agree. A movie that opens with him moving with the music completely out of sync deserves an oportunity. And it also has Ben Gazzara (as threatening as a puppy) driving in zig zag just because he wants to. If only the whole movie had been as much fun... Unintentional hilarious, especially if one does not like Keanu Reeves :teddyr: Title: Re: post unintentionally funny 'tough guy' movies Post by: Mr. DS on November 23, 2007, 12:04:57 PM Eye Of The Tiger - Gary Busey vs a motorcycle gang
Cage - Lou Ferrigno in a cage fighting movie I'd have to say Commando is the best overall though. Its filled with cliches of the tough guy genre. Title: Re: post unintentionally funny 'tough guy' movies Post by: 316zombie on November 23, 2007, 02:36:11 PM any of the deathstalker movies, they all crack me up! :bouncegiggle:

I actually own that flick and the only reason why I bought it was for the scene that you just mentioned. Title: Re: post unintentionally funny 'tough guy' movies Post by: KYGOTC on November 24, 2007, 01:16:02 AM Ash from THE EVIL DEAD trilogy would probobly could as an intentionaly funny tought guy, although hes not the stereotipical buldging, veiny, funny accented type.
Title: Re: post unintentionally funny 'tough guy' movies Post by: Dr. Whom on November 24, 2007, 04:51:58 AM Under Siege2 is also a strong contender. The final showdown between Seagall and the cold staring terrorist (I forget his name) in the kitchen! Those karate moves are worthy of Cato and Inspector Clouseau.
Title: Re: post unintentionally funny 'tough guy' movies Post by: Mr. DS on November 24, 2007, 07:54:04 AM I thought Doom (the one with The Rock) was pretty funny.
By the way, how about Dolph Lundren? He has been in a ton of tough guy nonsense. Title: Re: post unintentionally funny 'tough guy' movies Post by: Neville on November 24, 2007, 08:43:56 AM True. "Red Scorpion" is a riot.
