Title: RIP Dan Fogelberg Post by: trekgeezer on December 17, 2007, 03:13:02 PM I'm going to admit to liking the guy's music although some might find it "sappy". Dan passed away yesterday after struggling with prostate cancer, he was 56.

Title: Re: RIP Dan Fogelberg Post by: ulthar on December 17, 2007, 05:30:26 PM Wow, RIP, Dan. I loved your tunes, man. Great relaxing, dozing music.
Prostate cancer? Got my Dad at 60. One of those things I would not wish on my worst enemy. Title: Re: RIP Dan Fogelberg Post by: indianasmith on December 17, 2007, 08:08:06 PM That's really sad; I had a close friend who loved Dan Fogelburg's music so much. He passed away last year from complications of diabetes at 42; now his favorite singer has slipped away. I'm bummed just hearing about it.
RIP, Dan. I still share "John Sutter's Mill" with my 8th grade history classes every year. Title: Re: RIP Dan Fogelberg Post by: nshumate on December 17, 2007, 10:12:00 PM I hope he has a child who can sing "Leader of the Band" at his funeral.
Title: Re: RIP Dan Fogelberg Post by: Allhallowsday on December 17, 2007, 10:28:16 PM Sad news. "Same Old Lang Syne" is a well-played song I never tire of, especially this time of year.
Goodnight, Daniel. Title: Re: RIP Dan Fogelberg Post by: Torgo on December 17, 2007, 11:31:54 PM My oldest sister is a huge fan of his. She was shocked to hear from me today about his passing. I didn't know that he was sick actually.
While I didn't care for his music all that much I can at the same time see why he had such loyal and passionate fans. Title: Re: RIP Dan Fogelberg Post by: 316zombie on December 20, 2007, 06:36:54 PM oh geez!i'm also not a huge fan,but i did admire him as a songwriter,my brother will be devastated..off to email him...
Title: Re: RIP Dan Fogelberg Post by: Pilgermann on December 21, 2007, 04:46:42 PM My mom called me the day afterwards and told me about it. She and my dad are really big fans of his, and fairly recently I fell in love with his album The Innocent Age. A real shame, but at least he left a positive mark on the world.
Title: Re: RIP Dan Fogelberg Post by: Yaddo 42 on December 23, 2007, 12:26:49 PM I'm not a fan, but I know several people who are. When I told a good friend at work, who I had a hunch was a fan, it was news to him but he was defintiely sad about it.
