Title: Major Events That Happened On Your Birthday
Post by: Ash on January 22, 2008, 05:01:01 AM
I didn't want to hijack Killer Bees' birthday thread so I figured a new thread was in order.

Have any major event happened on your birthday?
Sadly, a lot of people have died on the date of my birth.   :bluesad:

---------------------------------------

On my birthday 4/19, the following events in history happened:

1995: The Oklahoma City Bombing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma_City_Bombing)

1775: The American Revolution begins.(the shot heard round the world (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shot_heard_round_the_world))

1861: First blood in the Civil War (http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history.do?action=Article&id=6872).

1943: Warsaw Ghetto Uprising (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsaw_Ghetto_Uprising) begins.

1993: The Branch Davidian compound burns (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waco_Siege).

-----------------------------------------

To find out what happened on your birthday visit www.history.com and scroll down to the middle.  Look on the right side of the page where it says, "What Happened On Your Birthday?".  Enter your birthdate and go from there.
Or you could just go to Wikipedia and type your birthdate in the search box.

What has happened on your birthday?

Nothing too much of note really, the most important one being 'Bonnie And Clyde Gunned Down'.

Oh and this one was amusing:

23/05/2004: George W. Bush recovers from bicycle accident.

Such a shame...

Probably the best known would be the MGM Grand fire on my birthday in 1980.

Ollie North started shredding documents on this date in 1986.

And in 1995, the Dow Jones closed above 5,000 for the first time.
