Title: Holy crap! Is this the future of gaming?
Post by: BTM on January 30, 2008, 06:31:13 PM
Guys, you've GOT to see this.. I mean, this to me has a LOT of potential in it.  Guy is showing how he made a Head Tracking device for a VR Display with a WII Remote.

Video starts out a little bland as the guy is explaining the basic technology but when he demonstrates his system, WOW!  You could just imagine what would be available in a few years if they actually starting developing something like this..

Check it out!

This is pretty sweet.  I'd definitely steal the kid's Wii if it had games that could do that  :teddyr:  I'm always moving my head around trying to see things that aren't on screen, so if that actually worked, cool!

I love it!! There is a definite future in this.  We need fifty Johnny Lees in a big room filled with Wiis and saftey goggles, and tell them to just work on it.  Next thing we know.  The greatest video games EVER!!!

that is pretty cool, a desktop would be awesome.

head tracking is in 'armed assault' though, if you want to buy the headset and extra software

Yah, I've seen this. Would be a shame for multiplayer, though, and only one person could watch the screen, his friend wouldn't be able to watch him play and see the perspective.

I'm sure that if a company picks this up they'll figure out a way to work on it so that there is multiplayer.  If it's a PC game though, hello MMORPGs
