Of course, I spent all day at the Cricket, so I guess hanging out watching sport all day isn't a bad way to be.  I just wish I could do the above every day...

I've just discovered coconut oil as a beauty aid.  I've always had pretty good skin, but now it's just fabulous!  If I break out, the blemishes are gone in a couple of days and any rosacea I had is now non-existent.  I can even use it as a hair treatment to stop the frizzies and keep my long curly hair in check.  Now my skin is the softest it's ever been.

Plus, it's cheap and lasts pretty much forever.  So now I can stop buying my expensive moisturiser and just use one product for everything.

SOme original poetry, perhaps?

ODE TO A DEAD PILLBUG, FLOATING IN MY BATHTUB

Little ball of segments and feet, when you were alive, you looked so neat.
But now, soggy and dead, you float along.  Little bug, where did you go wrong?
You wandered into a strange world of white, then felt the sting of hot water's bite.
So take heed, you pill bugs, stay out of my tub, or you'll find yourself in a similar rub.

thank you, thank you!

My mother's surgery to insert a pain control device in her back has to be rescheduled because insurance denied the claim at the last possible moment.  She had another pain attack a few hours after she read the news.

They will pay the claim eventually, they're just delaying.

I don't know much about insurance, but yeah, they clearly see people as ways to make an extra buck.  Otherwise they would look for loopholes to avoid paying.  "I'm sorry sir but you needed to be injured in the continental U.S. to recieve payment."

A "Say Whatever" thought for the moment....I hate sheeple....truly, I do.

Sheeple?

From Wikipedia:

Sheeple is a term of disparagement, a portmanteau created by combining the words "sheep" and "people"; a reference to herd mentality. It is often used to denote persons who acquiesce to authority, and thus undermine their own human individuality. The implication of sheeple is that as a collective, people believe whatever they are told, especially if told so by authority figures, without processing it to be sure that it is an accurate representation of the real world around them.

Maybe they do it of their own free will but it sure looks like they're just following everyone else. I think I will incorporate the use of "lemming" into my dislike of sheeple.

Overhead the albatross
Hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves
In labyrinths of coral caves
An echo of a distant time
Comes willowing across the sand
And everything is green and submarine.

I tried religion and some holy roller steals my tent.
In the grave yard I ain't strong enough to jump the fence.

Makes me wonder can we ever stop payin' dues.

I'm an avid knitter and I have so much yarn at home, I need a whole room to keep it all in.  Trouble is, it's all odd amounts that I can't do much with.  I've been sarching for a pattern that would take care of all the odd bits and bobs so I can at least walk through the flat without tripping over yarn.

And on the weekend I found the perfect book in the library.  A guy called Kaffe Fassett is a leading textile artist and is known for his use of bright random colours in his knitting, quilting, mosaic work, you name it.

So I copied down some striped patterns which would be perfect to make an "odd ball" afghan with and so use up all the yarn scraps I haven't the heart to throw out.  Finally I'll have an empty flat.

But I'm only doing it so I can go out and buy more yarn without feeling like an addict.

When you explain to a customer that due to his incredible lack of intelligence he would find it impossible to insert his thumb into his posterior even with the use of both hands and the help of a map your opportunity for continued employment is considerably enhanced if your boss explains to the customer that he feels that your assessment of his intellectual capabilities is most probably correct.
