Title: Newsletter Problem
Post by: Ash on February 13, 2008, 02:19:51 AM
Andrew,

I signed up for the newsletter when you recently started the DVD giveaway contest.
Whenever I get the newsletter in my e-mail inbox, the text doesn't fit the screen.
All of the letters on the far right of the screen can't be seen and there is no scroll bar on the bottom to scroll over and read them.
Basically everything on the far right is cut off and there's no way to read it.
It's not cut off by much, but enough so that you have to guess what the words are.

My screen resolution is set to 1024x768 and I've never had this issue with e-mails sent by anyone else or on other webpages.
This happens only on the Badmovies.org newsletters.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem?

I check it on 5 of my computers all with different display setting and they all displayed fine in Thunderbird.

Unfortunately, there is no way for me to troubleshoot this problem.  The newsletters are delivered by the Feedburner service, which pulls the information from the site's RSS feed.  What you describe is quite odd.

I did notice that they were delivered by a seperate service but thought I'd mention it here anyway.
So far it's happened in every single one I've received.
The next time I get one, I'll post a screenshot.

I quite believe you about the issue, but have not seen it occur under either Thunderbird or Outlook.  What do you use to read the newsletter?

I use Yahoo Mail for 90% of my e-mail.
Maybe I might try switching it to my Gmail account.

Here's a screenshot of one I just got tonight...

(click the thumbnail to view full size)

As you can see, only part of the text is cut off.
Usually, there's quite a bit more that is not visible.

You are only missing 2 letters on the wrap ... the line says "...a brat kid who invented a lasergun is there ..." so it looks like you are getting the "ho" of who cut off ... not sure if this info is any good or not, but in short you're not missing much, just a couple of letter which are behind your scroll bar for some reason.
