The plot sounds like something different, but if the director is the same man who was involved in "Creature Unknown" and "Harpies" - I'm a bit worried.

Filming begins today on CYCLOPS, Producer Roger Corman’s new big budget Sci-Fi Channel original film.  Starring Academy Award Nominee Eric Roberts, Swedish bombshell Frida Farrell, Broadway star Kevin Stapleton, and Directed by Sci-Fi veteran Declan O’Brien, this $10 million feature tells the story of a CYCLOPS, discovered in ancient Rome, who is captured by arrogant soldier Marcus (Stapleton) and brought back to the Emperor Tiberius (Roberts).   Soon, however, the corrupt Emperor forces Marcus to fight in the gladiatorial arena against the CYCLOPS with the help of a beautiful barbarian (Farrell).  After Marcus learns what it means to be a hero and the Cyclops’ essential humanity is revealed, together they end the emperor’s tyranny.

The movie is to be filmed in Sofia, Bulgaria at the luxurious full-scale Roman set built for the USA network movie SPARTACUS that has been restructured in the most sumptuous manner possible.  The stuntmen are ready to defy death for this film that Mr. Corman promises will be “one of the biggest and best pictures of my 400 film career.”
