Title: Bad Videos: Dog Police Post by: clockworkcanary on March 18, 2008, 01:55:02 PM I vaguely remember seeing this video once as a youngster back when Empty-V actually played videos. And yes, it's still as stupid as I remember. I wonder how much they had to pay the cheering people at this concert?

This is one of those things that I vaguely remembered myself. It actually reached the point where I believed I might of just dreamt the damned thing and fixed it in place as a memory. But there it is! :buggedout:
And, by God, it's still as stupid as I remember. Clearly they owe a wee bit of credit to McGruff. Title: Re: Bad Videos: Dog Police Post by: clockworkcanary on March 24, 2008, 01:22:09 PM Heheheh I've had other people tell me they thought they dreamed it too! And those three guys - man they look like some goofy ass dudes even by 80s standards! No wonder they wore the dog masks! I should get two of my buddies to get outfits and dog masks like those and dress up as the dog police for next Halloween!

It's hard to believe there was a time when I watched MTV about 9 hours a day! That was back in the early '80s - it sure isn't the channel now that it used to be. Great trip back through time! If I recall correctly, Dog Police was the winner of MTV's first DIY music video contest. Hey, you have to hand it to them - at least there's some SPFX make-up involved there! Not sure if I have the year right, but in 1983, did everyone in music videos wear trenchcoats, fedoras, and sunglasses? Billy Mays hails from here in Tampa Bay, FL. Saw him at a funeral not long ago, of all places. Tampa Bay is the home of direct response TV advertising and the Home Shopping Network (cult movie fans take note: Rhonda Shear can sometimes be seen on HSN!).
