You know, I sometimes sell things on eBay, and, after selling this I'm starting to think, "Heck, maybe I try too hard."  I mean, I've been selling silly stuff like toys, CDs, movies, games, clothes, etc, when perhaps I should have been looking at my food in search of stuff that resembles something else.

I mean, granted, I've always been on the lookout for any food item that vaguely resembles a religious figure, as I know they sell pretty good, but I never thought to do states.

If you guys will excuse me, I'm going to go out and buy a whole bunch of potato chips...

Canceled Corn Flake Auction Back On eBay
Woman Told Listing Violated Food Policy

UPDATED: 11:11 am EDT March 19, 2008

CHICAGO -- Two sisters from Virginia who are trying to sell a corn flake shaped like the state of Illinois on eBay have been forced to rework their auction.

The Web site canceled their first listing because the company told them it violated their food policy, the sisters said.

The flake is now back online in the form of a coupon.

The winning bidder will be able to redeem the coupon for the actual flake.

Copycat items have popped up on eBay, including corn flakes shaped like Hawaii and Virginia and a potato chip that bears a resemblance to Florida.

Bidding on the Illinois flake ends Thursday. The top bid early Wednesday morning was more than $116.

Phineas T. Barnum would have loved eBay.

(swearing deleted)

I REALLY need to buy some corn flakes!

what's really crazy about this is I LIVE in Illinois, and I couldn't see wanting a corn flake that resembles this state if they GAVE it away.

(Course, I live in the boring part of Illinois, so maybe it's different if you're up further north.)
