Title: Dungeons and Dragons Post by: clockworkcanary on March 26, 2008, 08:52:50 AM Dungeons and Dragons Fourth Edition will be releasing the 3 core books in June. There is a lot of mixed feelings about this. I'll probably get them but from what I've read so far, there are things I like and things I don't like, but overall, it sounds ok. (It's not like they're going to force us to ditch our old books.)

"I've never played D&D" I've never played Dungeons & Dragons. I've watched people play it and it was never my cup of tea. Instead, I prefer Magic the Gathering where the cards decide the outcome. Title: Re: Dungeons and Dragons Post by: clockworkcanary on March 26, 2008, 09:02:31 AM Heh, updated. Magic The Gathering is no less of a geekery -heh I've done both! Although I dropped the card games because they cost too darn much (I know guys who've dropped thousands into it). True you could spend a lot on D&D but in Magic (or any other card game) you have to invest more $$ to have a better deck -not my thing really.
Sure D&D has that reputation you speak of but you'd be surprised. I met a few very nice women at D&D meetups :) And the competition for their attention wasn't all that fierce :) hehe Title: Re: Dungeons and Dragons Post by: Patient7 on March 26, 2008, 09:58:24 PM I've never played this geekery, but I think if one of my friends had been playing it in my earlier years I would be completley obsessed with it.

Having a campaign to run is a dream I have, but a hard-to-attain one. |
