Title: Need help with this movie Post by: Adnana on April 01, 2008, 03:42:02 PM It is a movie I saw a few years ago and I would really love to see it again, but I cannot remember its title. And sadly, as it was so long ago, I also don't remember many details about the film itself... Well, I do remember it is an older movie, from earlier than the '90s. The main character is a woman and I believe her husband is to be executed (the setting is, I would say, the late 19th or the 20th century). She thinks her husband is dead, and later is somehow kidnapped by some sheik? because of her beauty. I distinctly remember that, one time, she tries to run away, but is brought back and flogged (also because of her refusal to become her kidnapper's lover). I also remember the end: the heroine's husband, somehow, turns out to be alive, and he has been researching a way to turn metal into gold (alchemy) and discovered the secret. I think he uses this knowledge as a bargaining chip to get his wife back (save her), and then one of the last scenes is with the two of them, finally reunited, on a ship.
