I've read about this.
It's even on Wikipedia here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mosquito).

Apparently, teens have been able to upload this frequency onto their mobile phones as a ringtone.
That way their phone could ring in class and the teacher couldn't hear it.

Here's where to get it:

There's a link there to hear it yourself...if you can!
I downloaded the MP3 and couldn't hear it.   :bluesad:
But then I downloaded the WAV version and could definitely hear it.
You know when you hear a particularly loud noise and your ears ring?
It sounds like that.

I must be missing something here.  The guy's got a 15 year old daughter who wants to disperse gangs of hooligans which tend to collect around her.  So he comes up with a device that doesn't effect people over 30.  But, seeing as his daughter is 15, isn't she under 30?

I'd love some sort of device that disrupts cell phone communications for an area of 50 feet around me.  That would be fun to walk through the mall with.   :teddyr:
