Title: Your Dream Chess set Post by: RCMerchant on April 04, 2008, 08:35:40 PM A coupla years ago,on the Stomp Tokyo board,there was a question about custom chess sets. You know...like those Star Trek,or Star Wars chess sets? What would you like to have....?
Me...I'd like a BAD movies one! The BLACK SIDE: King-the First KING of the B's...(take a wild guess?) Bela,of course...! As Dr. Eric Wornoff from Bride of the Monster. Queen-Hmmm...the ASTOUNDING SHE MONSTER! Bishops-MANOS!!! Knights-Herschal, from ....the Blood Freak! Rooks-TOR! LOBO! Pawns-lotsa zombies...not from NotLD...I'm talking the oatmeal faced ,leathery creeps from any Italian zombie fest! WHITE SIDE: King-Ash...of course! (No...not you Ash...sorry...the Evil Dead Ash...!) Queen-Pam Grier! With her double barrled shotgun! As Coffy!!! Bishops-the TOXIC AVENGER! Knights-Bruce again! as Elvis! From Bubba Ho Tep! Rooks-Doing the GOOD guys is hard!!! ....gee...uh...uhmmm....cripes....OK. PJ Soles. From Rock and Roll High School. Pawns-Lotsa little Mr.Chickens...you know...Don Knotts! The Ghost and Mr.Chicken...? OK...what kinda customized chess set would YOU like? Anything in the world!!! Black: King - Gannondorf, from "The Legend of Zelda" Queen - Kaileena, Empress of Time, from "Prince of Persia, Warrior Within" Bishops - Dahaka, from "Prince of Persia, Warrior Within" Knights - Darknut, from "The Legend of Zelda, Windwaker" Rooks - Mountain of Malefor, from "The Legend of Spyro, Eternal Night" Pawns - Space Pirates, from "Metroid Prime" White: King - Link, from "The Legend of Zelda" Queen - Lara Croft, from "Tomb Raider" Bishops - Magnuson and Keegan, from "Medal of Honor, Vanguard" Knights - Samus Aran, from "Metroid Prime" Rooks - Superdreadnoughts, from "Battalion Wars 2" Pawns - Lilties, from "Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles" This would be fun to have, I imagine it would be a pricey kind of thing to buy, but if you were good with your hands you could probably make one up for yourself. It would be interesting to set up a shop and make these sets to order for people, probably make a decent income doing it, of course you would be sued for copyright violations by all the companies and people whose images you copied. You could probably get permission from these people but I'm sure the fees they would want would make the chess sets to costly to sell.
