Title: Funny but real official cards/titles Post by: Dennis on April 05, 2008, 12:53:37 PM I never would have thought twice about this if we had never bought a computer.
I am covered by a dental plan through my employer and last Tuesday for the first time in years I had to furnish a copy of my plan card, they just copy both sides in the dentist's office and put the paper in my file. When I got it back I looked at the title on the card, it is Southern California Lumber Industry Welfare Trust Fund, this is printed in large bold type across the middle of the card but because the card is small it is abbreviated and looks like this, SO. CAL. LUMBER IND. WTF, reading this made me laugh so hard that I'm sure the receptionist thinks I'm crazy, now I enjoy showing the card to friends and asking if they see anything out of the ordinary. It gets worse: colleagues tell me that the official designation of a head of that department is Senior Head Industrial Technician: HEAD. I don't need promotion: I'll stay where I am for now, thanks. :buggedout: |
