This DVD is available in two versions: an unrated version (the one I bought) with a red DVD cover, and a slightly shorter version with a yellow cover.  If you watch the unrated version, be VERY CAREFUL who you watch it with.  It contains several hardcore sex scenes (which really surprised me).  I'm not talking about steamy, R-rated sex . . . these are graphic hardcore scenes.  They aren't very long, but there are several of them and they are explicit.

Anyway, this is a Swedish revenge film that was originally released in the U.S. as THEY CALL HER ONE EYE in a drastically cut version (missing about 20 minutes of footage).

Here's the plot:

A young girl named Frigga is raped and the incident causes her to grow up mute.  One day as a teenager, she is on her way to see her therapist but she misses her bus.  A man in a car offers to give her a ride.  However, he kidnaps her, takes her to his home, and begins injecting her with heroin until she becomes addicted.  Then he forces her into a life of prostitution.

When her first customer shows up for sex, Frigga scratches the man's face with her fingernails.  Her pimp punishes her by gouging out her left eye with a scalpel.  This is a very graphic scene and the DVD liner notes say there are rumors that a real corpse was used to film the scalpel going into the eye.

For the rest of the movie, Frigga wears an eye patch (she has various colors to match her clothing).  She begins taking various lessons (martial arts, race car driving, rifle and pistol shooting) as she prepares herself for revenge.  They never really explain why her pimp lets her out to do these things.  But, hey, this is a grindhouse flick!

After she completes her training, Frigga hunts down her customers, pimp, and his cohorts and treats them to some slow-motion sawed-off shotgun action.

The revenge plot is nothing new, and the killings are actually pretty lame, but this is a bizarre movie that makes you feel like you should take a shower after watching it.  I can't really recommend it, but it's probably worth watching so you can tell people you have seen a Swedish grindhouse film.
