piracy "substantially interferes with the interest of the public in the quality of life and community peace, lawful commerce in the county, property values, and is detrimental to the public health, safety, and welfare of the county's citizens, its businesses and its visitors."

That's is just so nonsensical.  But, that's the world we live in I guess.  People in Asia will turn out tens of thousands of copies of their DVDs and Cds, and the studios will seize the property of some 16 year old girl because she used Napster.

As Jack said this is nonsensical.

So what they are saying is that if my neighbor has an illegal copy of a movie or CD then my property values will go down? And I thought it was the sub-prime lending market, I bet it was those darn pirate the entire time.

If it wasn't for those darn pirate then that clinic in Vegas wouldn't have re-used those needles causing a public health problem, and a risk to public safety.

Ok I'm going to go get some duct tape now my head is about to explode ... got to be the pirate fault and those that illegally download music and film. Damn you internet!

Only the leadership people in California could make a reach like that and expect people to believe it.
