Title: Personal Best (1982)
Post by: lester1/2jr on May 12, 2008, 08:17:36 AM
The first hour of this movie was fantastic.  More or less immediatly the hot main character playedby mariel hemingway gets into a steamy lesbian romance with one of her fellow track and field ers.  That story with the background of competitive sports and olympic trials and so forth would have been enough for 90 minutes, instead the director takes us on a documentary-like tour of the lives of the athletes.  this half of the movie is well done but not always very interesting.  But Hemingway is very good, as is her coach who looks like a cross between iggy pop and david carradine.

disgusting. what a shock to have fanatics try to cram their belief down another's throat by making athletic movies that are focused on pedophiles or other forms of sexual abberations. What ever happened to fun movies that were friendly to moral loving faith and family values?
