Title: Cyborg Soldier
Post by: Andrew on May 17, 2008, 06:55:24 AM
The government tries to make cyborg soldiers out of condemned criminals, with the expected results: they end up with a bunch of out-of-control cyborgs.  Fortunately, a “loose cannon” DEA agent saves the day.

Starkraven.  Yeah, that's subtle.  Shouldn't that be the scientist's name??

Part Universal Soldier part Robocop rip off I'd say. Still fun to watch I bet.

Part Universal Soldier, part Robocop ripoff with a heavy dose of Terminator to go with it...and has anyone picked up on the name Jack Ryan being lifted from the CIA operative in Tom Clancy's novels?

Yeah, Jack Ryan = Tom Clancy

Loved the Mercury Cougar police car...

When you shoot a tank of diesel fuel, it leaks.  Diesel is not nitroglycerin, it doesn't explode just because you bang on it.  It's hard to ignite diesel, much less make it detonate.

it´s funny in the short clip that nothing gets hit, before the middle part of the clip. How ugly people fall, that there is only one getting bloody, after shoot. and when they put on the attachments. The vinkle is completly wrong and everything..

Thanks for this review, Andrew: I shudder when I realize that I know most of the people who made this film and that includes the cast too: all of them were either paid very little or not at all and that's the reason that NuWorld Services / NuImage fled South Africa a few years back, chased by a long line of angry creditors.

How'd you like that low budget drug lab with the topless ladies? I thought  :buggedout: yikes indeed.

I thought that you had mentioned something about this movie being the one that ended NuImage's welcome in South Africa.  There are a number of big "mass destruction" scenes; those must have cost some money (and perhaps some insurance).

For some reason, I vividly remember thinking that I'd much rather prefer one of the ladies if she was wearing a shirt.  Nicknamed that woman "Droopy."
