Title: Children of the Grave
Post by: SynapticBoomstick on May 29, 2008, 12:38:12 AM
I caught this special today after it and Ghost Adventures aired again; having missed it the first time, I'd been hoping for a repeat (TiVo failed me, does anybody else have that weird problem where it says it's recording a show but the feed stays stuck on another channel?) and I was fairly impressed by it. The opening segment about orphanages was really spooky and even made me jump at least once- fair play to them :bouncegiggle:! The images, EVPs, stories and video were also pretty fascinating and I think the whole thing was professionally and impressively done. The "group scream" EVP and hunting for the "Big Man" were spine-tingling (quick, scream!) and the whole thing with Zombie Road and shadow people made me want to run out and see for myself. How awesome would that be to get a shadow person on film :teddyr:?

Anyone else catch it? What did you think?

Didn't catch the show SB, but I might have an answer to your TiVo... emphasis on might since we've only had it for a few months here. We had this problem at first, but it turned out to be my mistake because I'd selected the wrong signal during the initial setup. The information on the screen would change and the screen would flash when I would go to change the channel, but the channel itself would not change. Even after that though we did have a couple cases where the TiVo would record something on one channel while it was supposed to be recording on another channel. If you leave your TiVo on at all hours of the day, you might want to shut it off for a few minutes a day or every other day just to let it reboot, kinda like if you leave your computer on for days or weeks at a time and it starts to lag.

Beyond that, all I can say is that I hear a lot of complaints from friends about both TiVo and TimeWarner's DVR and only TiVo seems to be the company that gives a crap when you call their customer service, so if the problem consists you should give 'em a call. Good luck!
