It's been a while since I saw Offerings. But doesn't that bring up a a chicken/egg question? I mean, was Halloween a tweak of Offerings a tweak of Halloween? I just added it to my NF queue. Offerings was definately a riff on Halloween, but the thing I noticed was that it tended to center on the killer's childhood, lousy parents, etc., which is what reminded me of the remake.
