Title: Stan Winston dead at age 62. Post by: Torgo on June 16, 2008, 04:31:13 PM Man, oh man, what a huge huge loss. Talk about a giant of the industry. I didn't even know that he was ill with multiple myeloma which was what brought about his death.

Stan Winston was a modern day Harryhausen, and today's sci-fi and horror movies wouldn't have been the same without him. Hopefully the men and women who worked for him will carry on the legacy.

I was just talking to my dad about how much yesterday's creature effects were better than today's... Well they're certainly not going to be the same anymore :bluesad: For those who don't know, Winston is most known for the creation of the Predator and Pumpkinhead, outstanding monsters.
