Oddly enough, even when they're trying to be lighthearted, Peta still come off as intolerant, self-righteous nuts. Obviously, they feel pretty confident they would win, but I wonder what would happen if the Beef Queen came out the winner and plunked a blue-rare porterhouse onto Lettuce Lady's plate. I suspect the veneer of sportsmanship would vanish pretty quickly. For that matter, I doubt they're going to convert a farm girl to their cause by showing her gross videos of slaughterhouses. She knows where her food comes from.

I've noticed that PETA is also trying to use the Manitoba bus slaying as a soapbox for their BS, drawing comparisons to animal slaughter and running full-page ads in Winnipeg dailies. Amazing how people who are so sensitive about cruelty to animals don't seem to give a sh!t about doing something really cruel and insensitive to the family and friends of Tim McLean (and very likely the family and friends of the killer too). Nothing like using someone's tragedy to advance your own agenda, and groups like PETA do it all the time. I simply can't put any credence into a message appealing to my conscience, when it is delivered in a way that shows a complete lack of conscience about anything else. Nuts, all of them.
