Title: The B-Movie Film Vault takes on "Zebraman" (2004)! Post by: Jordan on August 09, 2008, 03:43:43 AM I haven't seen too many of Takashi Miike's films, but this is movie is probably as close to "kid-friendly" as he'll ever get. A down and out Japanese schoolteacher with a fetish for tokusatsu shows becomes his favorite superhero and saves his country from invading slime creatures from space! I thought this was a pretty fun flick and I enjoyed it enough to watch it a few times. TURN ON THE BLACK AND WHITE! :bouncegiggle: Title: Re: The B-Movie Film Vault takes on "Zebraman" (2004)! Post by: Rev. Powell on August 09, 2008, 01:21:53 PM Another kid-friendly Miike film is THE GREAT YOKAI WAR (2005):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMFZ-anfETU It was enjoyable, with some nice images and dozens of unique Yokai (freindly spirit monsters), but not nearly as memorable as Miike's adult stuff I've seen. I have all three of the old Yokai Monster films (I've only watched "Spook Warfare" thus far, but I enjoyed it thoroughly) and I'd really like to see Miike's take on those crazy critters. Thanks for reminding me about "Great Yokai War!"
