2. JOHN AGAR: highly entertaining in some of strangest and weirdest films of all time. Few could play over the top like Agar. His credits include THE BRAIN FROM PLANET AROUS, THE MOLE PEOPLE, JOURNEY TO THE SEVENTH PLANET, DAUGHTER OF DR. JEKYLL, TARANTULA, ZONTAR THE THING FROM VENUS, CURSE OF THE SWAMP CREATURE and WOMEN OF THE PREHISTORIC PLANET.

GREAT CHOICE!  I agree 100%! What would the 50's have been without John Agar?

Trivia Time: In the 1976 KING KONG big budget travesty, he played the Mayor of New York! ( I would vote for him!)

I don't wanna be anal retentive...but I kinda wanna do this one by one. All great  suggestions though...can you pick one for #3?

(I like how when I typed the # all I had to do was release  the button and remove my finger to type in 3...how many times does that happen?...so fantastic!)

Those are ALL great choices...but I kinda want to limit one to a post...it just kind of makes it easier, and more fun for everyone else....

I'm surprised nobody has nominated him yet even though we're only 5 in but...

5.  Bruce Campbell

I think we'll go with Audie Murphy for the slot. A highly decorated war hero who became a prolific star of numerous 'B-Westerns' of varying quality as well as a few 'A' pictures such as "The Unforgiven" and "The Red Badge Of Courage".

Audey Murphey is a great choice...one of the first "non"-actors to make it in the movie biz!

#6. I'll go with the immortal Linnea Quigley (she's been on my mind lately ):

Star of THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD and HOLLYWOOD CHAINSAW HOOKERS, among others.  And who can forget the "lipstick trick" from NIGHT OFTHE DEMONS---the most innoative use of a scream queen's nipples in modern exploitation history?

Audie Murphy is a from my hometown of Greenville - well, actually, Greenville, Celeste, and Farmersville all claim him - but Greenville is the county seat, and we have a museum dedicated to him with a 16 foot bronze statue out front.  Inside you can see his uniform, medals, movie memorabilia, and the instrument panel of the plane he was flying in when a crash took his life all too soon.

28 major decorations for valor from four countries . . . but he hated to be called a hero.  He said the real heroes were the guys who never made it back.

I saw that movie a few days ago, that scene is quite disturbing if I do say so myself.

#7. (http://www.glowingdial.com/images/Vincent_Price_2.jpg)

Vincent Price: Can there be any doubt about this inclusion? From THE INVISIBLE MAN RETURNS to EDWARD SCISSORSHANDS, he's an undeniable icon of the Horror Fantasy genre. Heck he even appeared in a kids horror show in Canada entitled "The Hilarious House of Frightenstein". All those Corman Poe films: THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER, THE RAVEN, PIT AND THE PENDULUM, THE MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH, THE TOMB OF LIGEIA not to mention starring in MASTER OF THE WORLD, THE COMEDY OF TERRORS, TWICE TOLD TALES, THE TINGLER, WITCHFINDER GENERAL, THE DR. GOLDFOOT films, DIARY OF A MADMAN, TOWER OF LONDON, HOUSE OF WAX, THE FLY and RETURN OF THE FLY. He also appeared on "Get Smart", "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" and was the villain named Egghead on "Batman".

I nominate James Karen for his work in various B-films.  That guy should have gotten an award for his role as Frank in Return Of The Living Dead.  If anything, just for the parts he is whining.

#10 - John Carradine - A man with a very long and diverse career.

 Egg-cellant! (as Egghead would say!)

Here's one that deserves inclusion.....he's been a regular in B-movies since the AIP /Corman days, yet he rarley got a lead....but once,in the classic BUCKET of BLOOD. Everything from IT CONQUERED THE WORLD (1955) to ROCK AND ROLL HIGH SCHOOL (1979) ,GREMLINS (1984), to last year's TRAIL of the SCREAMING FOREHEAD. His credits are ASTOUNDING!!!!!!

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0588241/bio

12. the ever busy DICK MILLER!!!!

Here he is as Walter Paisley in BUCKET of BLOOD (1959)

I think the count is off (no pun intended) because I nominated TOM ATKINS who would have been #6.

EDIT:
Egg-cellant! (as Egghead would say!)
That's what I always say mainly 'cause my mother called my brother "Ed" a "big butter and egg man..."  I also say "Edcellent!"

(PS...this IS #12....)
Thank you for noticing!

Can there be any doubt that #15 CAMERON MITCHELL belongs here:

His filmography includes FLIGHT TO MARS, GORILLA AT LARGE, BLOOD AND BLACK LACE, KNIVES OF THE AVENGER, MAN EATER OF HYDRA, NIGHTMARE IN WAX, THE TOOLBOX MURDERS, THE SWARM, WITHOUT WARNING, ERIK THE CONQUEROR, FRANKENSTEIN ISLAND and numerous other roles in B-movie war pics, B-movie westerns (where he truly excelled it seems) and numerous television appearances in shows from practically every genre.

18 - Sid Haig. A truly menacing heavy in many movies and TV shows, until he stopped taking roles as heavies. Came back big time as probably the first honest-to-goodness horror icon of the 21st century.

Incidentally, in this scene from TJ Hooker, Sid is remarking on the noticeable line between Shatner's toupee and his real hair.

No.19 - Phil Fondacaro - The littlest giant of b-movies. Though he's kept mostly to Full Moon flicks, he's had a few other roles outside of Charles Band's productions, including Bordello of Blood, Land of the Dead, and he killed a guy in an episode of CSI! :teddyr:

Can't do this list without this name:

#20. CHRISTOPHER LEE

(Besides his star turns as Dracula and the Mummy and the Frankenstein Monster and his popularity in the new Star Wars films as Count Dooku, Lee has been in a calvacade of B-movies which some would argue his monster roles also belong too. His filmography includes CORRIDORS OF BLOOD, THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES, THE MAN WHO COULD CHEAT DEATH, HORROR HOTEL, THE TWO FACES OF DR. JEKYLL, THE HANDS OF ORLAC, THE TERROR OF THE TONGS, TASTE OF FEAR, HERCULES IN THE HAUNTED WORLD, CASTLE OF THE LIVING DEAD, CRYPT OF THE VAMPIRE, THE DEVIL-SHIP PIRATES, THE GORGON, DR. TERROR'S HOUSE OF HORRORS, SHE, THE SKULL, several FU MANCHU films, THEATRE OF DEATH, CIRCUS OF FEAR, ISLAND OF THE BURNING DOOMED, THE CRIMSON CULT and that's just up to the 1960s. More notables to come in the 70s were THE CREEPING FLESH, several DRACULA sequels, THE WICKER MAN, TO THE DEVIL A DAUGHTER and STARSHIP INVASIONS and that's just some of his B-movie roles.)

A bona fide legend for B-movie fans:

24. MICHAEL GOUGH: Sure he's perhaps best known today as the butler in several 90s Batman flicks but Gough had a long and distinguished acting career and appeared in quite a number of B-movies, especially in films produced by Herman Cohen. He's appeared in THE MAN IN THE WHITE SUIT, HORROR OF DRACULA, HORRORS OF THE BLACK MUSEUM, KONGA, BLACK ZOO, DR. TERROR'S HOUSE OF HORRORS, THE SKULL, THEY CAME FROM BEYOND SPACE, BERSERK!, THE CRIMSON CULT, CRUCIBLE OF HORROR, TROG, THE LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE, SLEEPY HOLLOW not to mention appearances on "The Avengers", "Doctor Who" and "Blake's Seven" amongst other genre TV programs.

26. Bruce Dern

Shot John Wayne and tattooed Maud Adams. Starred in more psycho type roles than you can count. Whether it was as a supporting or lead role, you could always count on Bruce to deliver.

27 - George 'Buck' Flower - Grizzled character actor often cast as drunks and bums. Was one of John Carpenter's regular players. Started out playing in softcore porn and exploitation films, and amassed an impressive resume. Acting credits include the Ilsa films, Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama, pretty much anything Carpenter made in the 80s, along with a wide assortment of horror, comedy, TV appearances, etc.

Is anybody keeping track of the master list so we have something to go back and reference, rather than flipping through pages to see if certain people were nominated yet?

No.28 - "Rowdy" Roddy Piper - Though you could make a case for any number of "wrestlers turned actors" (except the Rock, who lucked into mainstream Hollywood), I think the Hot Rod has to be the king of bad movie grapplers! They Live, Hell Comes to Frogtown, Sci-Fighters, and so forth.  :teddyr:

30. ELISHA COOK JR.

Instantly recognizable star who appeared in numerous B-pictures including HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, HELLZAPOPPIN', A-HAUNTING WE WILL GO, VOODOO ISLAND, BLACK ZOO, THE HAUNTED PALACE, ROSEMARY'S BABY, THE NIGHT STALKER, BLACULA, SALEM'S LOT, 1941 not to mention his numerous film noir (in classics like THE KILLING, THE BIG SLEEP, THE MALTESE FALCON and television appearances, Cook it seems could excel in any genre and was that perfect character performer to play certain roles.

39. George Zucco

Zucco played supporting roles in many A films such as THE SECRET GARDEN, JOAN OF ARC, and MARIE ANTOINETTE and was the ultimate Professor Moriarty in THE ADVENTURES OF SHERLOCK HOLMES. He also appeared in several Universal horrors like THE MUMMY'S HAND, HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN, and THE MAD GHOUL. He also starred in several non-Universal horrors from other major studios like THE MONSTER AND THE GIRL and DR. RENAULT'S SECRET.

Of course, what really cinches Zucco's place on this list is his many over-the-top performances in poverty row horror classics like THE FEATHERED SERPENT, DEAD MEN WALK, SCARED TO DEATH, and THE BLACK RAVEN. Zucco was such a draw in these films his name appears in the credits of THE RETURN OF THE APE MAN even though he dropped out before filming began!

Zucco and Charles Gemora (who deserves a place on this list, too!)

Zucco on the poster - no Zucco in the film!

Hit the big-time in the 80s with Miami Vice, but struggled to get movie work in the 70s, did reasonable tv work in the 90s, tho' still having unfortunate commercial failures when it came to the movies;

45. WARREN OATES: First discovered him in classic TV series like "Boris Karloff's Thriller" and "Lost In Space" and have since come to greatly appreciate his fine character portrayals in not only those TV shows but in many films particularly B-movie Westerns like THE SHOOTING, RIDE THE HIGH COUNTRY and RETURN OF THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN. Also a favourite for his appearances in 1941, THE WILD BUNCH, IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT, DILLINGER, BRING ME THE HEAD OF ALFREDO GARCIA, DRUM, STRIPES, BLUE THUNDER and TOM SAWYER amongst others.

47. Klaus Kinski.  The definition of "intense".  Though probably best known for his work with Herzog (AGUIRRE, NOSFERATU) he was in his fair share of clunkers, too.  Some notable titles: Scotland Yard Hunts Dr. Mabuse, Goddess of Vengeance, The Pleasure Girls, For a Few Dollars More, Circus of Fear, Killer's Carnival, Justine, count Dracula (as Renfield), Asylum Erotica, Woyzeck.

# 48. ERNEST BORGNINE: Shocking it took this long. Despite a long and distinguished career and indeed some roles in some quality "A" pictures over the years, Borgnine has done more than his share of "B"s to warrant his inclusion here such as JOHNNY GUITAR, WILLARD, BUNNY O' HARE, THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE, THE NEPTUNE FACTOR, THE DEVIL'S RAIN, CONVOY, THE BLACK HOLE, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, LASER MISSION, GATTACA, SMALL SOLDIERS, BASEketball just to name a few.

49. VICTOR BUONO who we enjoyed in WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE? (He later played BETTE's father in a small but important role in HUSH, HUSH SWEET CHARLOTTE) THE STRANGLER, BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES, and of course King Tut on the old "Batman" TV series!

52. Tor Johnson

One of Ed Wood's returning actors, he almost always played monsters.
He's been in classics like Bride of the monster and Night of the ghouls.
But I think his most memorable performance was in The beast of Yucca flats.

OOPS! Tor is # 22!   :buggedout:

Tor started in films as far back as 1934! In bit parts....usually uncredited. He was in KID MILLIONS (1934) with Eddie Cantor,The GHOST CATCHERS (1944) ,the LEMON DROP KID (1951) both with  with Bob Hope,BEHIND LOCKED DOORS (aka the HUMAN GORILLA (1948),...and most interestingly-to me at least...the Monkee's HEAD! (though he's not listed as appearing on imdb!)

MOTO films, YOU'LL FIND OUT, INVISIBLE AGENT, THE BOOGIE MAN WILL GET YOU, ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, THE BEAST WITH FIVE FINGERS, MY FAVORITE BRUNETTE, QUICKSAND, 20000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA, AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS, VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA, TALES OF TERROR, THE RAVEN, THE COMEDY OF TERRORS, MUSCLE BEACH PARTY

Like many of the other "Golden Age" star mentioned Atwill played several important supporting roles in 'A' films such as THE DEVIL IS A WOMAN, CAPTAIN BLOOD, and THE THREE MUSKETEERS - but he's best remembered as Horrorwood's "Maddest Mad Doctor"" in such films as MYSTERY IN THE WAX MUSEUM, THE VAMPIRE BAT,  THE GORILLA, DOCTOR X, MAD DOCTOR OF MARKET STREET, and memorable over-the-top roles in several Universal horrors like MAN MADE MONSTER, SON OF FRANKENSTEIN, NIGHT MONSTER, and HOUSE OF DRACULA.

Everybody remembers Karloff's monster ripping Atwill's fake arm from its socket in SON OF FRANKENSTEIN!

56 - Jackie Coogan - OK, he did some classic stuff as a kid, and he was primarily a TV actor in later years, but the guy who played Uncle Fester on The Addams Family had a respectable list of b-movies, exploitation and assorted cheese to his name. Just a sampling: Mesa of Lost Women, High School Confidential, Space Children, The Beat Generation, Sex Kittens Go to College, Dr. Heckyll and Mr. Hype and his final film, The Prey.

Best known for BARBARIAN QUEEN and its sequel, she also appeared in FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH, DEATHSTALKER, AMAZON WOMEN ON THE MOON, THE HAUNTING OPF MORELLA and VICE GIRLS.

Sadly, the general public may remember her as the actress Phil Spector killed, but I'll always remember her as the woman who took my exploitation movie virginity.

As Allhallows pointed out in his induction of Candice Hilligoss....some players had such an impact on the collective memory of fans as  to become unforgettable...even if their roles were few. Virginia Leith...in the BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE-as chosen by Dennis is another fine example-as is this lady....

 61. Maila Nurmi - aka VAMPIRIA!!!

As well as being a horror movie hostess in the 50's and in the infamous PLAN 9 from OUTER SPACE, she appeared in the BEAT GENERATION (1959), SEX KITTENS GO TO COLLAGE (1960), and the MAGIC SWORD (aka ST.GEORGE and the SEVEN CURSES ,1962) !

61 - William Shatner - This might be a controversial nomination, due to the Shatman's status as a TV icon, successful author, recording artist, all-around celebrity, etc., etc. However, he's been in his share of b-movies, particularly in the lean years between Star Trek and, well, Star Trek. Films like Big Bad Mama, Impulse, The Devil's Rain, Kingdom of the Spiders. And even during the Star Trek movie and T. J. Hooker years, he could be found in things like Visiting Hours and Airplane II.

64. EDUARDO CIANELLI

He was the High Priest in THE MUMMY'S HAND, he was Doctor Satan in the MYSTERIOUS DR. SATAN, he was Dr. Van Glock in THE CREEPER. Often the mysterious foreigner in whatever role he played on TV or in the movies, Ciannelli might be often overlooked but he belongs on this list. He also appeared in MONSTER FROM GREEN HELL, THE STRANGER'S HAND, THE SHIP OF CONDEMNED WOMEN, SEVEN KEYS TO BALDPLATE, CRIME DOCTOR'S WARNING, CRIME DOCTOR'S GAMBLE, BULLDOG DRUMMOND'S BRIDE amongst others.

While perhaps more famous for his appearances in the AIRPLANE films and the TV Series "Mission Impossible", Graves has done more than his share of B-movie work. His filmography includes RED PLANET MARS, BENEATH THE 12 MILE REEF, KILLERS FROM SPACE, IT CONQUERED THE WORLD, BEGINNING OF THE END, THE EYE CREATURES, THE CLONUS HORROR just to name a few of the more notable ones.

68. Angelo Rossitto

Only 2'11", Rossitto was one of the most famous and recognizable dwarf actors in film history. He started in silents starring alongside John Barrymore in BELOVED ROGUE and finished his career almost 60 years later starring alongside Mel Gibson and Tina Turner in MAD MAX: BEYOND THUNDERDOME.

He played in mainstream films like CAROUSEL, OLD SAN FRANCISCO, and A MIDSUMMER'S NIGHT DREAM, but is best remembered in cult films like FREAKS, SEVEN FOOTPRINTS OF SATAN, DEMENTIA, MESA OF LOST WOMEN, several Al Adamson films such as BRAIN OF BLOOD and DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN, several films with Bela Lugosi (who reported had tons of respect for Rossitto) such as GHOSTS ON THE LOOSE, THE CORPSE VANISHES, and SCARED TO DEATH, and many television series including reoccurring roles on GUNSMOKE, HR PUFNSTUF, and BARETTA.

Rossitto was not in THE WIZARD OF OZ.  :twirl:

63. Arch Hall Jr.
I don't know what to write. His "performance" in Eegah is more than enough to get him on the list. He was in other b-movies too, such as The Sadist, but Eegah is a Lovecraftian horror that shall not be forgotten. Some wounds don't heal.  His magic guitar still haunts me...ARGH! MAKE IT STOP!

No.69 - I know that I probably cooked my goose for this thread on the first day but how about Lee Van Cleef. A mainstay of spaghetti westerns including Leone's "Dollars Trilogy" and "Sabata" he also appeared in American classics like "Gunfight At The O.K Corral" and "High Noon". He also starred in B-Sci-Fi favourite "It Conquered The World" as treacherous scientist Tom Anderson and as the Rhedosaurus slaying Corporal Stone in the classic "Beast From 20,000 Fathoms". He wasn't bad in the B-star studded "Escape From New York " either!

# 70. WILLIAM SMITH (and I don't mean Will although some might well argue a modern day case for the Fresh Prince too). Smith was often the heavy, the villain in more movies than I can even seem to remember. Hell he's still making 'em. He seemed to be in almost everything at one point. Just a huge imposing figure of a man and definitely did not look like someone you wanted to mess about with. His mini-biography at the IMDB starts off "Biker, bare-knuckle brawler, cowboy, Bee-Girl fighter, vampire hunter . . . William Smith has done it all."

He's been in THE GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN (as the village boy),  ATLANTIS THE LOST CONTINENT, RUN ANGEL RUN, ANGELS DIE HARD, THE LOSERS, C.C. AND COMPANY, CHROME AND HOT LEATHER, PIRANHA, THE THING WITH TWO HEADS, HAMMER, INVASION OF THE BEE GIRLS, THE LAST AMERICAN HERO, GRAVE OF THE VAMPIRE, POLICEWOMAN, BOSS n****r, THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR, BLOOD & GUTS, HOLLYWOOD MAN, CONAN THE BARBARIAN, EYE OF THE TIGER, HELL COMES TO FROGTOWN, MEMORIAL VALLEY MASSACRE,  MANIAC COP, THE LAST RIDERS, WARRIORS OF THE APOCOLYPSE and even more.

71. Jayne Mansfield

"Here they are, Jayne Mansfield!"  The original Marilyn Monroe clone, and the first major actress to appear nude on film.  Credits include FEMALE JUNGLE, THE LOVES OF HERCULES, PRIMITIVE LOVE, DOG EAT DOG, LAS VEGAS HILLBILLIES.  She inspired the most exploitative movie of all time after her death, THE WILD, WILD WORLD OF JAYNE MANSFIELD, created with scarps of unseen Jayne footage, stunt doubles, and tasteless footage of the automobile crash that ended her life.

72. Divine (Glenn Milstead)

(In)Famous as the star of some of John Waters' most notorious films such as MULTIPLE MANIACS, PINK FLAMINGOS, FEMALE TROUBLE, and POLYESTER, Milstead aka Divine also had a successful stage and nightclub career. More than just a scary drag act, Divine developed into a talented slapstick comedian with great comic timing.

Late in his career he played male roles in several low budget films and was the character model for Ursula the Sea Witch in Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, and was reportedly hired to do the voice as well. He died of a heart attack at the age of 42 the night before he was to begin as a regular on Married... With Children. With his death, Pat Carroll was hired as the voice role of Ursula.

The idea that Divine (his eating dog crap onscreen was one of the milder things he did in Waters films) was associated with a Disney animated film boggles my mind.

I beg to differ but you need to check out HEDY LAMAAR in ECSTASY (1933 aka EKSTASE...) even TCM showed it within the past year (which shows how progressive segments of cable TV have become) and you get quite a good look at HEDY

Oh! And I nominate for #73 MANTAN MORELAND who appeared in KING OF THE ZOMBIES, REVENGE OF THE ZOMBIES, CABIN IN THE SKY, SHADOWS OVER CHINATOWN, THE SHANGHAI COBRA, SPIDER BABY...

Those cheezy zombie pictures would have been pretty lame without Mantan....as it is,though....I find them endlessly watchable! The guy should have been in  STAR comedian...alas...he was regulated to B movies....a victum of Hollywoods racial discrimination....

Good catch AHD.  Of course Brigitte Bardot also beat her to the punch.  I should have said, the first major AMERICAN actress to appear nude on film... I'd be very pleased if you corrected me on that one as well!

My next nominee:

74. CRISWELL! (The AMAZING Criswell!)

Okay, he only appeared in 3 films, in minore roles, but all are b-movie classics: PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE, NIGHT OF THE GHOULS, and ORGY OF THE DEAD.  My favorite oddball member of Ed Wood's troupe.

Well... MAUREEN O'SULLIVAN appeared completely nude in the original version of TARZAN AND HIS MATE, in a swimming scene later cut out of the film (and as legendary as the missing clips from KING KONG).  According to the IMDB, three versions were filmed, O'SULLIVAN in suit, topless, and nude, so that each U.S. state could choose their own censorship acceptable version.  The fully nude version was restored in the 1990s.  I did see a showing of that one, also on TCM, and needless to say, I was surprised at how much could be discerned in the underwater shots...

77. ROBERT VAUGHN: perennial baddie in many a movie, he also actually did  on occasion play reluctant hero too. He was in TEENAGE CAVEMAN, THE MIND OF MR. SOAMES, STARSHIP INVASIONS, THE TOWERING INFERNO, THE LUCIFER COMPLEX, VIRUS (1980), HANGAR 18, BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS (where he basically reprised a role similar to the one he played in THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN), SUPERMAN III, BLACK MOON RISING, THE DELTA FORCE, SKELETON COAST, ZOMBIE 5: KILLING BIRDS, C.H.U.D. II: BUD THE CHUD, TRANSYLVANIA TWIST, BURIED ALIVE, ESCAPE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN, he provided the voice of Proteus IV in DEMON SEED and appeared in Zane Grey Theater, Gunsmoke, Dragnet, Mike Hammer, Zorro, Playhouse 90, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Alcoa Theatre, Men Into Space, Wagon Train, Boris Karloff's Thriller, Tales of Wells Fargo, Bonanza, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Untouchables, Police Woman, The Hitchhiker, The Ray Bradbury Theater, The A-Team, Hunter, The Love Boat, Murder She Wrote, in TV movies devoted to Columbo and Perry Mason as well as starring as Napoleon Solo in The Man From U.N.C.L.E..

78. Whit Bissell

Bissell started his career as a Hollywood bit player in the 1940's. By the early 50's he was already a very familiar face, usually playing a scientist, doctor, or military officer, in classic horror and sci-fi flicks such as THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, TARGET EARTH, and MONSTER ON CAMPUS. He had the distinct honor of playing the evil mad scientist in both I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF and I WAS A TEENAGE FRANKENSTEIN.

By the late 50's/early 60's he was fixture guest star on dozens of TV series. His best remembered television role is probably Lt. Gen. Kirk on The Time Tunnel.

Bissell continued appearing regularly in guest roles in just about every series imaginable during the 70's and was still acting well into the 1980's in shows like The Incredible Hulk, The Dukes of Hazzard, Falcon Crest, and Hart to Hart. He passed away in 1996 at the age of 87.

79. PETER CUSHING: I don't think too many would argue with this inclusion although Cushing was always a first rate talent and brought it to whatever he worked upon it. Of course he's most famous for his Dr. Frankenstein and Dr. Van Helsing Hammer roles but Cushing also appeared in THE ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN, THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES (1959), THE FLESH AND THE FIENDS, THE MUMMY (1959), NIGHT CREATURES, THE GORGON, DR. TERROR'S HOUSE OF HORRORS, THE SKULL, SHE, ISLAND OF TERROR, the Dr. Who films, ISLAND OF THE BURNING DOOMED, TORTURE GARDEN, THE BLOOD BEAST TERROR, CORRUPTION, SCREAM AND SCREAM AGAIN, THE VAMPIRE LOVERS, INCENSE FOR THE DAMNED, THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD, TWINS OF EVIL, I MONSTER, TALES FROM THE CRYPT, FEAR IN THE NIGHT (1972), ASYLUM, DR. PHIBES RISES AGAIN, FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE, NOTHING BUT THE NIGHT, THE CREEPING FLESH, AND NOW THE SCREAMING STARTS!, HORROR EXPRESS, SHATTER, MADHOUSE, THE BEAST MUST DIE, THE LEGEND OF THE 7 GOLDEN VAMPIRES, LEGEND OF THE WEREWOLF, THE GHOUL, AT THE EARTH'S CORE, SHOCK WAVES, THE UNCANNY and MYSTERY ON MONSTER ISLAND.

No.80 - James Arness. Possibly best known as Marshall Matt Dillon in "Gunsmoke", he also appeared with John Wayne in films like "Big Jim McLain", "Hondo" and "The Sea Chase". However to B-Movie fans he will always be remembered as the "Intelligent Carrot" in "The Thing From Another World" and for his role as Robert Graham in the giant ant classic "Them!".

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0307500/ (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0307500/)

Unoffical scream queen of the 50's, Beverly Garland played a huge variety of roles in mostly b to z budget films. She specialized in sci-fi, horror, westerns, and just about every other genre produced by studois like A.I.P. , including true classics such as IT CONQUERED THE WORLD, NOT OF THIS EARTH (as allhallowsday sez: "WHY CAN'T I OWN A COPY OF THIS?!?"), THE ALLIGATOR PEOPLE,  and CURUCU: BEAST OF THE AMAZON.

She also has a long list of television credits, including the wife of Fred McMurray in the later seasons of My Three Sons,  that continues to this day.

HIGH SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL! (1958), THE HAUNTING (1963), THE WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS (1966), THE FEMALE BUNCH (1969), SATAN'S SADISTS (1969), DARCULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN (1971), THE LAST MOVIE (1971), NECRPMANCER (1988). WIAZARDS OF THE DEMON SWORD (1995), ATTACK OF THE 60 FOOT CENTERFOLDS (1995).

89. Elizabeth Russell

Exotic-looking and eternally mysterious Russell is best known for her roles in Val Lewton's 1940's series of classic b-film horrors. Russell had small to starring roles in most of them, including CAT PEOPLE, CURSE OF THE CAT PEOPLE, BEDLAM, and THE 7TH VICTIM. Russell's image appeared in THE UNIVITED (1944) as the portrait and the ghost(?) Mary Meredith and she had a major supporting role in Universal's 'Inner Sanctum' mystery WEIRD WOMAN.

Most appropriate for this site, though, Russell played Bela Lugosi's ancient wife Countess Lorenz who needed the 'gland fluids' of blushing brides to stay young in THE CORPSE VANISHES.

The scenes where Russell (in old age makeup) screeches and whines at Lugosi to hurry up and extract the fluid from the brides are some of the finest in poverty row horror history!

Elizabeth Russell certainly has a place on any 'Top 10 Favorite Actresses' list I'd ever make.

No.90 - Randolph Scott. He appeared in movies such as "She" and "Last Of The Mohicans" in the 'Thirties but his place on this list is based on the large number of 'B' westerns that he starred in in the Forties and Fifties. Often teaming up with director Budd Boetticher on films like "Commanche Station" and "Ride Lonesome" Scott also costarred in the early Peckinpah offering "Ride The High Country". Even many of his lesser-known films such as "Seventh Cavalry", "The Tall T" and "The Cariboo Trail" are highly enjoyable.

This is an interesting addition.....and a revelation to me! I remeber her from the CORPSE VANISHES....and I have seen the Lewton films...but never equated the actresses! Karma for a revelation (for me at least!)

91. Roddy McDowall

Child star at MGM, 60's & 70's Disney movies, APES series, ARNOLD, FRIGHT NIGHT 1 & 2, voice of V.I.N.CENT in THE BLACK HOLE,  LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE, THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE, IT!, The Bookworm on TV's Batman, etc. etc.

He was the only actor in the world who could emote with his hairline.
I felt very sad the day I learned he died.

92. Jack Elam

Jack's, er, unusual looks earned him small roles playing the "heavy" in numerous films, especially oaters.  He got small roles in some huge productions like GUNFIGHT AT THE OK CORRALL and ONCE UPON THE TIME IN THE WEST, as well as a lot of TV work, but he has an impressive B-film resume as well.  Instantly recognizable, Elam showed up in WILD WEED, KISS ME DEADLY, THE GIRL IN LOVERS LANE, CREATURE FROM BLACK LAKE, CANNONBALL RUN I & II, and about 1000 B-Westerns.

I remember Elam as the Frankenstein Monster in the (very) short-lived CBS sit-com Struck by Lightening.

94. Ray Milland

Another Oscar Winner (THE LOST WEEKEND) who did more than his fair share of memorable B-pics in his declining years, often working for Roger Corman.  Notable roles: PREMATURE BURIAL, PANIC IN THE YEAR ZERO, X: THE MAN WITH THE X-RAY EYES, FROGS, and TERROR IN THE WAX MUSEUM.

Here he is acting "alongside" Rosey Grier in THE THING WITH TWO HEADS:

C'mon guys, don't give up now, there are so many more!

95. GEOFFREY LEWIS who is in one of my favorites, BAD COMPANY (1972) but was reminded of because 33 years later is in THE DEVIL'S REJECTS.  Aside from a ton of TV work like MOON OF THE WOLF and SALEM'S LOT, he's also in THE CULPEPPER CATTLE CO., HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER, THUNDERBOLT AND LIGHTFOOT, MACON COUNTY LINE, SMILE, THE RETURN OF A MAN CALLED HORSE, NIGHT OF THE COMET, LUST IN THE DUST...

Hard to find pix online, here's a link to his IMDB page with their ungrab-able pix:

Hmm I have a quick list I jotted down with close to 20 more names on it and that's just off the top of my head (sure there's even more than that though, obviously they all can't make the 100 list although personally I'd like to see us expand this thread beyond that limit).

96. DONALD PLEASANCE: Actually I'm amazed he isn't already listed. Aside from being most famous for his Dr. Sam Loomis role, Pleasance was the Man with the Power on The Outer Limits, was William Hare in THE FLESH AND THE FIENDS, was the President in ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, Blofeld in YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, Father Loomis in PRINCE OF DARKNESS, SEN in THX-1138, Professor John McGregor in PHENOMENA and that's just the tip of the iceberg. He also appeared in the 1956 version of 1984, CIRCUS OF HORRORS, THE HANDS OF ORLAC (1960), EYE OF THE DEVIL, FANTASTIC VOYAGE, FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE, TALES THAT WITNESS MADNESS, HOUSE OF THE DAMNED, THE MUTATIONS, THE DEVIL WITHIN HER, THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO (1975), ESCAPE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN, JOURNEY INTO FEAR, LAND OF THE MINOTAUR, THE UNCANNY, TELEFON, NIGHT CREATURE, GOLD OF THE AMAZON WOMEN, DRACULA (1979), THE MONSTER CLUB, THE PUMA MAN, ALONE IN THE DARK, WARRIOR OF THE LOST WORLD, THE TREASURE OF THE AMAZON, WARRIOR QUEEN, THE HOUSE OF USHER (1980), VAMPIRE IN VENICE, TEN LITTLE INDIANS (1989), BURIED ALIVE (1990) not to mention appearances on "The Ray Bradbury Theater", "The Twilight Zone", "The Fugitive", "The Defenders", "Danger Man" and "One Step Beyond" and even more.

97. Marjoe Gortner.  Amazing back story: he was raised from a youth to be an evangelical scam artist.  His conscience got to him, and in his farewell tour to the tent-revival circuit he invited a camera crew along to document his performance, including honestly showing how he scammed his parishioners out of their paychecks.  He parlayed this film experience into a B-movie career, appering in THE FOOD OF THE GODS, VIVA KNIEVEL!, STARCRASH, MAUSOLEUM, JUNGLE WARRIORS and HELLHOLE, among others.

100. MARTIN KOSLECK: Was there ever a better cast Nazi villain? In fact he played Joseph Goebbels 5 different times! While he was often typecast in this Nazi German soldier role, it's interesting to note that Kosleck was in reality so anti-Nazi he had to flee the German regime. Of course, he also played an whole host of other foreign villains, spies, secret agents, mad scientists and other assorted crazies. To me, he's most memorable for his roles in THE FLESH EATERS as loony scientist Professor Peter Bartell and for his role controlling the Creeper Rondo Hatton in 1946's HOUSE of HORRORS as psychotic artist Marcel De Lange. But Kosleck appeared in a whole host of stuff including ESPIONAGE AGENT, NICK CARTER MASTER DETECTIVE, CALLING PHILO VANCE, THE MAD DOCTOR, THE DEVIL PAYS OFF, ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT, FLY-BY-NIGHT, NAZI AGENT, BERLIN CORRESPONDENT, THE GREAT ALASKAN MYSTERY serial, THE NORTH STAR, SECRET'S OF SCOTLAND YARD, THE MUMMY'S CURSE, STRANGE HOLIDAY, THE FROZEN GHOST, PURSUIT TO ALGIERS, THE SPIDER, CRIME OF THE CENTURY, JUST BEFORE DAWN (1946), SHE-WOLF OF LONDON, THE BEGINNING OF THE END, SMUGGLERS' COVE,  THE MAN WITH BOGART'S FACE and even as Basil Malko in AGENT FOR H.A.R.M.. He also made memorable appearances on Boris Karloff's Thriller, The Outer Limits, Get Smart, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, The Man From UNCLE, The Girl From UNCLE, Batman, The Wild Wild West, Mission: Impossible, Burke's Law, Hogan's Heroes, Night Gallery, Sanford and Son and Banacek.

How can you have a list of the top 100 B Actors and not include Eric Roberts... Sham on you!

Doesn't say "Top 100." It's just a list of 100 actors people thought of, in the order we thought of them. Jeez, I get annoyed when people get indignant about leaving somebody off a list. At least this time it's a completed list. Nothing against Eric Roberts though. He does deserve to be here. The 1996 Doctor Who TV movie opened my eyes to his hammy genius.

Funny, I looked over the whole list and I can't imagine why I didn't nominate Persis Khambatta at some point. So unlike me.
