Title: Reform School Classic
Post by: amlittlefeather on August 12, 2008, 09:56:04 AM
Only saw this movie once on TV in the 60s & it was an old B&W movie about a reform school for girls. The main character was nicknamed "Green Eyes" very blond, and very beautiful. Many of her fellow prisonmates liked her because she was not conceited, friendly and helpful, but she did have some jealous enemies.  As you watched the movie you had to develop an empathy for many of these wayward teenage girls, especially since many of them were poor, neglected, and abused.  Green Eyes was able to sneak out quite often to see her boyfriend, as I believe she had inside help from a male guard that wanted her. Green Eyes died when she tried to escape by climbing over the electrical fence, and all of the prison witnessed her death. One of the most amazing tearjerkers I've ever seen and I don't know the name of this movie.  Can anyone remember the title?

I haven't seen it, but this seems to be a match:

The Green-Eyed Blonde (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050457/)

I found it by searching for characters named "Green Eyes" on imdb.

The Green Eyed Blonde (1957) sounds like the movie & that You Tube clip definitely looks like that pretty young blonde.  Hope Turner Classics or PBS monitors this site, because there's a lot of potential entertainment gurus. Glad I found this site. Thanks everybody for your help.
