Title: Max Payne

Official Movie Trailer

I have been waiting for them to make this for years, after being a huge fan of the games (on PS2). At first I was surprised to find out that Mark Whalberg would be portaying Payne and didn't feel that he was right for it, but this looks really good. Mark Whalberg is a favourite actor of mine, he'll do a good job, so I guess it's just about appearances.

I like the whole "Winged Angel" concept, that you see them taking a person away at the moment of death.
Didn't think it would be so many years until a movie of these great games rolled up (I'm very wary of these types of conversions too), I can honestly say I am looking forward to this.

Any Max Payne fans here, what's your take?

I saw this trailer attached to Tropic Thunder this past weekend.  Looks pretty cool as I liked the games. Hopefully it won't suck.

This one very much caught me out off guard since I didn't hear about it until just recently.

It has a very similar look to Constantine from the trailer I just watched [cinematography-wise]

I'm a big fan of the game and there were quite a few parts that were quite freaky in it.  I'm always up for good violent bloody noir so I hope this does it!

So far so good!

I played a lot of Max Payne and found the gameplay innovative to say the least.  I'm sure the movie will have several nods to it but I hope not too many.  Theres only so many Matrix-like shots I can take.

As for the story, the video games had a really awesome one so I don't see why Mr. Payne shouldn't translate well into the big screen.  Regardless of what the script may be.  The dirty, gritty noir feel should capture all audiences if its done right.  I'll probably wait until video like most things I watch but I'll be checking it out.
