Title: BLACK SHAMPOO (1976)

Mr. Jonathan is a macho hair-salon owner and ladies' man (much like Adam Sandler in YOU DON'T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN).  When gangsters vandalize his shop and steal his girlfriend, he seeks revenge.

This is a typical 1970s blaxploitation movie (funky music, huge afros, plenty of nudity - - including full frontal nudity - - and a violent ending), but star John Daniels is pretty dull and there isn't much action until the final few minutes when the gangsters get killed with a chainsaw, pool cue, and hatchet.  However, as a huge blaxploitation fan, I couldn't omit this from my DVD collection.  At least it's a nice, widescreen print.  Other than that, it's the pits.  Of course, the fact that it was directed by Greydon Clark (SATAN'S CHEERLEADERS, WACKO, JOYSTICKS) doesn't help.

I liked SATAN'S CHEERLEADERS alot! Greydon Clark acted in a lot of Al Adamsons films too. A man of many questionable talents!
I've seen the trailer on one of my other crappy tapes (I think it was NURSE SHERRI)....it looks kinda wild...of course thats the trailer...still...if I see it at a flea market for a couple bucks...I might buy it anyway...because I'm a sucker for crap like this...even when I know better.

oh i FULLY disagree.  Black Shampoo is the cheapest most ridiculous blaxploitation film and perhaps the most preposterous movie of the 1970's which is saying rather alot.  I mean, it's a black version of warren beaty's "shampoo" , people.  it's like if dave chapelle made a black Titanic.  he has sex with like 10 different women with zero effort on his part.  the acting is so bad it should have been dubbed even though it's in english
