Title: Shootout movie ...
Post by: akiratubo on September 01, 2008, 05:12:44 PM
I saw a few minutes of this on TV a long time ago.  This is what happened:

Some gangsters were in a fairly rural area, holed up in a house and shooting it out with a whole lot of cops, or maybe just a posse.  It was a very long gunfight and they were laying some serious lead.  They had tommy guns, pistols, rifles, and shotguns.  One of the gangsters was lying on a cot or a bed, dying I think, and another of the gangsters threw a towel over his face and shot him.

At least two of the gangsters got away.  One of them encountered two cops, got shot, but managed to kill them both before he went down.  The other got surrounded by a group of regular people and they blew him to pieces with their shotguns.

I *think* it was in color.  It felt like late-60s/early-70s.

Mebbe The GRISSOM GANG (1971) or BLOODY MAMA (with Shelly Winters)?

Perhaps "Dillinger" from 1973 with Warren Oates and Ben Johnson?
