Title: Gas price hike
Post by: trekgeezer on September 13, 2008, 11:11:12 AM
Our attorney general was on tv yesterday telling us to report obvious price gouging to his office.  Some stations upped there prices by $.70 per gallon.  I filled my tank Thursday at the the Truck stop down road from my house for $3.59 and when I came by on the way home from work yesterday is was up to $3.99.

I hope those refineries didn't get damaged too bad on the coast when Ike hit or they'll be sticking it to us again.

One to keep in mind is that gas stations are only allowed to raise the price ONCE A DAY. If you see it change for the worse TWICE in one day, , well, I don't know who to contact, but there's someone to contact.

Our gas went up over $1.00 in a matter of hours, the Governor declared a State of Emergency and magically they dropped just as fast to the pre-hysteria state.

As the state AG pointed out we don't even get our gas from Houston it was nothing more than gouging and profit taking of the stations as wholesalers said no price increase was issued at that time.

The lemming were lined up down the road to buy gas and many stations sold out.

I just hope they get rid of this stupid ethenol policy.

I'm getting sick & tired of having to flush out my tank & buy valve cleaners every month.

That's why Crown went out of business, because they knew beforehand that this stuff was bad for engines. :hatred:

Gas went up about 30 cents where I live. I think that the low 87 octane was 3.99 at the height of worries about Ike. But it's since now gone back down to 3.69 a gallon.
