These little troll like creatures are in this mans house.He is trying to get rid of them and they want to get rid of him. They get some kind of tool(i think it is a spade)and cut him with it. Any extra info would be helpful. The only film that comes to mind off the top of my head would be "Munchies," a goofy and low-budget rip-off of the "Gremlins' films.
