Title: "Classic" Movie Titles Post by: Metropolisforever on September 30, 2008, 12:22:08 PM Hollywood insiders have always said that you need a good title to grab people's attention. Well, these titles certainly grab people's attention, to say the least:
The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies (1964) The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade (1967) The Longest Most Meaningless Movie in the World (1970) Another Demonstration of the Cliff-Guibert Fire Horse Reel, Showing a Young Girl Coming from an Office, Detaching Hose, Running with It 60 Feet, and Playing a Stream, All Inside of 30 Seconds (1900) Lemon Grove Kids Meet the Green Grasshopper and the Vampire Lady from Outer Space (1965) Can Hieronymus Merkin Ever Forget Mercy Humppe and Find True Happiness? (1969) Rat Pfink a Boo Boo (1966) My Lovely Burnt Brother and His Squashed Brain (1988) Elvis Is Alive! I Swear I Saw Him Eating Ding Dongs Outside the Piggly Wiggly's (1998) Four Fags in a Fabulous Car (2009) Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood (1996) Oh, Dad, Poor Dad, Mama's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feeling So Sad (1967) Tossing a n****r in a Blanket (1898) Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean (1982) ...and my all-time favorite: Night of the Day of the Dawn of the Son of the Bride of the Return of the Revenge of the Terror of the Attack of the Evil, Mutant, Alien, Flesh Eating, Hellbound, Zombified Living Dead Part 2: In Shocking 2-D (1991) As always, feel free to post some more "classics" to the list. Title: Re: "Classic" Movie Titles Post by: Doc Daneeka on September 30, 2008, 04:28:04 PM Dirty Ho - From what I've heard, a Shaw Brothers Dirty Harry ripoff about a guy named Ho. XD
Transmorphers - Oh gee, this one sounds familiar to one that just came out about a week ago! Does the Asylum truly think it's a good sacrifice to make their titles sound amazingly ridiculous just so they can sell idiotic in-name-only ripoffs to dyslexic people? Dr. Strange Glove, The Blizzard of AAAAAAAAHHHHs, Licence to Thrill, The Good, the Rad, and the Gnarly, etc... - Not ripping off movies to be dishonest as was the case with the previous selection, but rather because a bunch of random ski enthusiasts thought naming their random ski videos after random films would be some kind of clever, hmmmm.... Snakes on a Plane - Samuel L. Jackson, did you really like the title of this film? Well, I suppose "Pacific Flight ####" would have been even less thrilling... What we have here is a now well-faded Internet meme of a mildly entertaining plot-summary disguising a SciFi-quality-Movie Bela Lugosi meets a Brooklyn Gorilla - A "plot-summary title" and precursor to SoaP. Haven't seen this one yet, but I suppose Lugosi liked the working title and only agreed to work on the film if it was kept? :bouncegiggle: Title: Re: "Classic" Movie Titles Post by: RCMerchant on September 30, 2008, 08:58:24 PM Actually,I believe BELA LUGOSI mets a BROOKYN GORILLA got it's title by trying to cash in on Universal's modest success with ABBOTT and COSTELLO meet the KILLER BORIS KARLOFF. And believe you me....I am a Lugosi fanatic....and this movies title is the best thing about it. :bluesad:
Title: Re: "Classic" Movie Titles Post by: inframan on October 01, 2008, 09:22:24 AM No Dirty Ho is kung fu comedy about the blending of kung fu styles. Its a really good Gordon Liu movie though, the literal translation of the title is actually "Dirty Head Ho" one of the characters has a sore on his head.

Giggalo and Whore 2 No explanation needed Fists of the Golden Monkey Golden Monkeys had me sold, and to top it off it was directed by "Chang Chang Ho" if I remember correctly. The Black Godfather Just sounded too bad to pass up. Snake Fist Dynamo Dynamos are always awesome. The Crippled Masters Going straight to hell with 6 of my buddies for watching this one. Highly Recommended!! Bruce Lee Super Gang Directed by "Yellow John", and as far as I can tell has bolo yeung for sure, and Bruce Li or Bruce Lei in the main role, but neither the director nor the movie title have ever come up on imdb or any website. I'm stumped but it's an awesome movie and I will be posting a review. Title: Re: "Classic" Movie Titles Post by: Nukie 2 on October 02, 2008, 06:09:45 PM Black Gestapo
