Title: Yearbook Yourself
Post by: Ash on October 17, 2008, 04:46:27 PM
This is pretty fun to play around with.   :teddyr:

Go to http://www.yearbookyourself.com/ .
Add a full-on headshot of yourself.  Make sure you aren't wearing a hat or have bangs hanging in your face or wearing glasses.
Upload it to the site and it'll show what your yearbook picture would look like from different decades.
When you've uploaded it, you have to hold down the alteration buttons. (not click them repeatedly)

It's uncanny how a few of them look exactly how I looked in the late 80's-early 90's.

Try it out and post a few pics here.

AHHHH!!!   :bouncegiggle:

In one picture I had a mullet.  I think it was from 1991.
Did you notice that the music on that site changes with whatever year you're looking at?

I uploaded my pic but it was from my work computer.  I'm on my grandpa's p.c. and it doesn't support high speed USB connections...so I can't upload that same pic onto his computer to show you guys the image.
I'll have to do it next week.

Is there any way to increase the USB speed capabilities on a p.c.?

If you are trying to use a thumb drive to upload to the computer, and it's not accepting it, I'm guessing that you are trying to connect it via a USB hub, with which a high speed connection will not work. You need to plug it directly into the computer's USB port.

I did plug it directly into the USB port but a box appears on the screen that says something like, "This computer does not support high speed USB connections".

Is there any way to change that?
What is a thumb drive?

A thumb drive is just a small USB flash drive.

What are you using, then, to upload the file from?

If you are plugging it directly into the port and it is giving a non-support message, you may need to update the driver by going to the Microsoft Update site. You can do that by opening Internet Explorer, if you are using another browser that is, click on the 'Tools' tab at the top of the browser, and click on Windows Update; it will guide the rest of the way.

This is of course presuming that you do not need a specific driver for the device from which you are trying to upload.

BTW, could you describe where the port is that you plugged it into?

I plugged my Sony DVD Handycam directly into the front USB port on the computer via a USB cable.

I'm taking a guess that since you used it at work, that you do not need a specific driver for it, but that it recognizes it as an external drive; or did you need to install a driver at work?
